Good luck when you have Clayton sub.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Again an unused sub as Luton beat Scun-Thorpe 3-2.

Got 73 mins in an EFL Trophy game verus Lincoln City. Scun-thorpe lost on pens after it was 1-1 in normal time.

Irons were up 1-0 when Lewis replaced.

Bugger they got kicked out as it was one of the few ways he could probbly gain some decent minutes... hopefully the manager subbed him with a view ahead to this weekend and trying to make sure he stays fresh.

EFL Trophy is played in a pool format, with only 2 games out of 6 played so far.

I'm not even sure if Lincoln got extra points for winning the pen shootout.

Irons next EFL game in November, and at moment yes appears Lewis's best chance of playing time.

Iron lose 2-3 after being 2-0 up at 7 mins, against Wycombe Wanderers.

Wycombe with winner at 94 mins.

Lewis watches it all from the bench.

Groundhog. An unused sub as Iron lose 1-0 at Blackpool.

At least has made the bench the last few weeks.

Scum-Thorpe sit 15th with season 1/3 through.

Meh 90 mins on the bench as Scun-thorpe beat Burton Albion 2-1 FA Cup.

Iron have an EFT game midweek, you would hope Lewis gets minutes there.

Permalink Permalink

Gets 86 mins in a 3-2 loss to Mansfield Town (League 2) in an EFT game.

Iron were down 2-1 when he was subbed off.

Credited with the assist for Scun-thorpe’s first goal.

Sadly the Iron are now out of the EFT (needed a draw as a minimum), and with some other midfielders apparently returning from injury - it's hard to see Lewis getting much if any further game time.

You would think he'd be pushing for a loan spell to a League 2 side or similar.

Same old. Unused sub in a 2-1 away win over Bristol Rovers.

Not in match day squad as Scun-thorpe lose 1-2 to Pompey.

I think a few 1st choice midfield players have now returned from injury for the Iron.

Lewis has been at the club now 1.5 seasons and is getting virtually nil playing time.

The coach who signed him has left, and the current coach hasn't been that complimentary.

Time to look at a loan deal in the January window surely.

Southend beat the Iron 2-0. Lewis back in the match day squad and actually gets 15 mins off the bench.

Scodhorpe were down to ten men from 38 mins.

Scodhorpe lose 1-0 at Shrewsbury Town and are knocked out of the FA Cup.

Lewis an unused sub.

Gets 10 odd mins off the bench in a 2-0 loss at Bradford. Same score when subbed in.

Iron are struggling this season. Now in the relegation zone. Bradford only 1 spot above.

Irons manager must be under pressure, considering last season under previous gaffer they were pushing for promotion playoff spots.

Wonder if he'd be considered for a surprise starting spot, to shake things up? These jokers haven't scored a goal for over a month (6 games)

Gets 20 mins off the bench as Scun-thorpe beat Wycombe Wanderers 1-0.

The Iron still stay in the relegation zone, equal on points with Bradford, and two points below Oxford.

Good to see Lewis getting some minutes, and will now be an interesting experience for him being involved with a club in a tough relegation scrap for the next few months. Esp now through Jan-March when the UK weather is still very gloomy, and the Christmas fun is over.

Far cry from the all too comfortable summer existence at Auckland City.

AFC Wimbledon (who Nik Tzanev is still to be in a match day squad for), are also fighting to avoid the drop being 2nd last on the table.

Watches from the pine as Scun-thorpe win 2-0 away at Peterborough (Steve Taylor’s old side).

Interestingly their coach didn’t make a single sub the whole game, and that’s despite five players picking up yellows during the match.

Can’t have a lot of faith in his bench, to close it out. They were 2-0 up from 58 mins.

Anyway another important win for the Iron, though they still lie in the relegation spots on GD. However it’s tight near the bottom, with 7 sides only 4 points apart.

Another good win for the Iron, this time 2-1 over Coventry.

That’s 3 wins on the bounce to go 3 pts clear of the relegation zone. Quite a form turnaround.

Lewis gets 10 mins off the bench, with Iron already 2-1 up.

10 mins off the bench in a 2-1 win at Walsall. Same score when he was brought on.

4 wins on the bounce for Scun-thorpe. Sit 15th and 6 pts off the drop zone.

Watches from the pine as Scun-thorpe score late (87 mins) to secure a 1-1 draw verus Sunderland.

Iron 17th and 4 points above drop zone. Black Cats 3rd on the table.

Scun-thorpe poach a 1-0 win at Fleetwood Town to move further away from relegation.

Unbeaten now in 6 games, incl 5 wins.

Lewis stays on the pine this week.

Gets 10 mins off the bench as Scun-thorpe beat Accrington Stanley 2-0.

Lee won't be happy.

Iron already 2-0 up when Lewis introduced.

Scun-thorpe have really turned their season around winning 6 of their last 8 games. Only dropping points to two sides in the top four (Barnsley & Sunderland).

Look pretty save from relegation now. Up to 13th and 7 points above the drop zone.

10 points below promotion playoff spots. Mid table.

Gets 25 mins off the bench in a 2-1 loss at Oxford.

Scodhorpe were down 1-0 when Lewis brought on.

Some patchy recent form by the Iron. After seemingly looking safe from the drop zone, they are now just 4 points clear

Ummm..Scodhorpe sliding further down the table with a 0-1 home loss to Bristol Rovers. They now sit 17th and only 2 pts above the relegation spots.

Lewis zero minutes.

In contrast to big Stef, some good news from League One.

Lewis played the full 2nd half as Scun-thorpe beat Southend 4-1.

Score was 1-1 at HT.

Lewis credited with an assist.

Pretty sure that's his most minutes in a League One match this season. Ray of light. Might get a start on the weekend.

Was a very important win as well, with the Iron now 15th, but only 4 points above the relegation zone. Tight at the bottom.

Levi Sutton was withdrawn at half-time, with Clayton Lewis coming on, and McCall explained: “Levi tweaked his groin five minutes before half-time. I knew from the Under-23s games we’ve had that I could trust Clayton. It’s a tight game, he gets about the park, has a good left foot and deserved his chance. Levi’s landed and twisted, and I think he’ll be a major doubt for Saturday. We’ll see what it’s like over the next 24 hours, but it might be a couple of weeks with it being his groin.”

Stays on the bench as Scun-thorpe lose 3-1 at Rochdale. The Iron are just 2 points above the drop zone, but there is a cluster of about 10 teams all within 5 points of each other near the bottom.

Stays on the bench as Scun-thorpe lose 1-2 at home to fellow strugglers AFC Wimbledon.

6 Iron players got yellows, so obviously some feeling in a high stakes game.

Iron are only 2 points above the drop zone (which includes Wimbledon), with about 10 teams remaining in contention for relegation.

What's his contract expiry and visa situation?

I thought he had to get a permit for this contract. wondering if the Nix could tempt him back (if there was an extension to the licence)
