I'm just glad the Timbers finally won something haha. Keat had a crack from about 10m out, on target, not enough power.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Good to see him getting on the paddock. This has probably already been discussed to death but surely if he's training with these guys and starting to see some game time he can't be far off the All Whites. Him and McGlinchey together in midfield with a defensive midfielder behind them would be terrific.

90 min sub in the 2-0 win over San Jose. Keane scored on debut.

After being drafted third overall in the 2011 Supplemental Draft by Los Angeles, Daniel Keat (Dartmouth) has overcome a fractured heel sustained in preseason to make his Galaxy debut. He made his first senior team appearance in a World Football Challenge friendly and has since appeared in three MLS matches, recording two shots in 15 minutes of action. Keats Galaxy, which recently acquired former English Premier League star Robbie Keane, lead the Western Conference with a 14-3-9 record.

wasn't in the starting XI or bench for win over Columbus Crew.

"The win gave LA a 5-0-1 record in their last six. The Galaxy have an important CONCACAF Champions League Group A match at home against Mexicos Morelia on Wednesday. LA currently hold third place in the Group, three points behind Alajuelense and Morelia with two matches left. The top two finishers in the group advance."

lets hope he gets some game time.

Hoping to see him in the MLS final, safe bet in putting money on Galaxy to win. Can't wait!

MLS announced the date for it's 2012 MLS Expansion Draft today; it will be held November 23, 2011. This is a 10 round draft where the Montreal Impact will chose 10 players from a pool of current MLS players. MLS clubs are allowed to protect eleven players from their roster, as well as any Generation Adidas or HomeGrown players on the off-budget roster.

The only HomeGrown player the Galaxy have is Jack McBean. Brian Perk was never Generation Adidas, though it's occasionally reported that he was. The rest of the supplemental roster will be made available so that means:

Brian Perk, Sean Alvarado, Paolo Cardozo, Hector Jimenez, Bryan Jordan, Daniel Keat, Dustin McCarty, Dasan Robinson and Ryan Thomas will all be available in the draft.

Came on for Beckham with 10 minutes to go in the Galaxy's 1-0 win against the Indonesian Selection.

Didn't get on in the second game of the tour, a 6-1 win against the Philippines

Dan Keat came on with maybe 10 minutes to go, playing against Marco. Neither of them having many touches on the ball.

Where the Galaxy could also find talent is the Supplemental Draft. Three of LAs four Supplemental Draft picks from 2011 made the team as Dan Keat, Ryan Thomas and Dustin McCarty were around for the ride through the club's MLS and Champions League success. Keat played in five regular-season games, while Thomas appeared in one.

Still, Arena said he wasn't thinking too far down the road.

You cant outthink yourself," he said. "The first thing you do is see how the first two rounds play out, and then you have a week to get ready for the next four rounds. Were obviously thinking of both, but I think we have to take it one step at a time. We want to try and get two good picks out of this draft and then focus on the following week.

MIDFIELD DEPTH: Nakazawa, 23, arrived in a trade from Philadelphia. The Galaxy gave up one of its international slots, used for foreign players, and also acquired a second-round draft pick next year.

The skilled midfielder from Palos Verdes Estates (Penisula HS) trained with the Galaxy during his time at UCLA. He made 36 league appearances in two years with the Union, starting 22 games.

I think he's a good young player, Arena said. I've followed him closely for years, obviously at UCLA and with Philadelphia. He's a player we've always wanted to have here at the Galaxy, and I think it's great to have one of our local players come back as well.

Nakazawa adds to the depth in midfield, joining Marcelo Sarvas, Michael Stephens and Dan Keat as players who can slot next to Beckham -- or into his place. With Sarvas ineligible for the Galaxy's knockout-stage games in the CONCACAF Champions League, Arena needs multiple options in the middle

"My locker is right next to David's so that was kind of a bizarre experience to see Dan Keat right next to David Beckham after being a huge Manchester United fan as a kid,"

Ginger and a Man U fan? This kid better be good if he's already doing so much to bring NZ football into disrepute

The most interesting decision may relate to what the Galaxy decide to do with their seven international spots. After trading one away to the Philadelphia Union in exchange for Kyle Nakazawa and a 2nd round Superdraft choice they are trying to fit eight players into seven spots. David Beckham, Robbie Keane, Juninho, Marcelo Sarvas, Paolo Cardozo, and Leonardo seem like safe bets to make the roster. Which means the decision comes down to MLS veteran Andrew Boyens and promising second year player Daniel Keat both of whom are from New Zealand. This is just a guess but look for the Galaxy to choose Keat who impressed last season, and started earning minutes down the stretch run. The one detractor against Keat is that the Galaxy have a lot of talented young players in central midfield including Nakazawa, homegrown player Jose Villareal

Un-used sub in Galaxy's 3-1 loss to Salt Lake

Came on as second-half sub in 2-1 loss to Toronto in CONCACAF Champions League Wednes. 15 (eliminated 4-3 on aggregate over two legs) and this rating:

Dan Keat 5

Of the three subs by Bruce Arena, Keat impressed the most. The more time this New Zealander gets, the better his confidence coming into matches later this year will be. This is a kid with a huge upside, and Dan Keat's role with LA will only get bigger.

So far keat hasn't played a single minute in the MLS. Hopefully tonigh, he is going to have his first minutes the midfield of LA galaxy. Specially with the official retirement of Brown and Elliott, Keat is one of the only Kiwis overseas playing as a defensive midfield(he even played as CB with galaxy's reserve team)

Full 90 in a reserve game ang a yellow card. Apparently played as a right back
Other potential starters include Chad Barrett (for either striker), Paolo Cardozo (on the left instead of Mike Magee), or Pat Noonan (up front or on either wing), or Dan Keat (at right back instead of Sean Franklin). Michael Stephens would be in line for significant minutes, but he is with Bill Hamid, Perry Kitchen, and the rest of the Olympic team. I wonder what their bet on Sunday's result will be?
