Puts him in the same boat as Roux, we will have to ask for an exception because he is unlikely to ever meet the 5 years over the age of 18 requirement.

I hear his left foot likes going to the opera and discussing post-modern continental philosophy over caviar and champagne

the lad has had a pretty full on month and by all accounts dealt with it well. It was a little unfair that he was made the centre of the issue whereas the focus should have on NZF and Fred de Jong etc. So am happy for him- just hope that NZF plug in the fax machine and sort his eligibility out

I think the media dealt with Wynne really fairly. They knew it wasn't his fault, but NZF presented him to the media anyway and Wynne handled himself with professionalism and class.

He was the centre of the issue because unfortunately he was actually the centre of the issue, but the media didn't "go after" him or anything.

Great that he has a new gig where he doesn't have to deal with this shark anymore.

yeah agree- the media was well balanced - NZF should have done a lot more to shoulder the responsibility. I am still unsure who, if anyone, has owned the issue

Another sign of a growing kiwi presence in what is become a competitive USLpro league due to the addition of many MLS "reserve" sides. Its possible it will be Payne and Gleeson (MLS roster but appears for T2 on Loan) vs Wynne and McKendry (also MLS roster player/kiwi passport holder who often loaned to FC2) when Portland T2  play Vancouver Whitecaps FC2.  Excellent!

Started vs Jake Gleeson's Timbers 2, in a 3-1 loss.

The CB's for Vancouver were shark house. Missed fairly simple clearing header. The blonde headed CB was terrible on that 1v1 for the second and Wynne had to cover 2 players. Similar again for the third but Wynne's man got goal side of him - definitely at fault then. That blond defender though, man - make a fudgeing challenge mate.

Yes not aided by the CB's but letting that ball bounce over him???, then the second one, yes he had two players but got no where near either. It will be a game he wants to forget.

I've struggled to see what everyone sees in him. He had one good game in his AW debut and I thought was rather poor at the U20s. I don't think he is as good as other people (with opinions that count more than mine) think

Maybe its more that there's a lack of alternative options in the LB role than that people think Wynne is great. Doyle might be the next cab off the rank, Hogg is in the international wilderness, and Tuiloma should be in DM where he's playing his club football and where we also need more options. Who else is there who could play LB- Tommy Smith? Is there anyone else I've forgotten?

Brown is as old as Wynn, so I don't think age matters for this example.

In the U17s in 2013, there was a left back/right back who impressed me, and I thought he was really good(Mind you, I only watched one game xD) But I thought Riley Kelliher was really good. I don't know what happened to him, I know he is at a university in the USA, but i did hear from someone he told NZ football to **** off. So I have no idea if thats true or not.

But I thought he was good after watching one game. - Probably not enough evidence at all xD

People should watch the game footage of the third goal. Not his fault at all.

He wins the ball. Plays it to the CM. Wynne pushes on as he should. CM then gives the ball away with a square pass leaving Wynne pushed on.

He made the run forward as he should have done with an eye to getting the ball back so I agree but the instant the midfielder turned the other way and not given it back to him, he should have halted and dropped again but he keeps going and then fails to react to the possession change especially when he can see the guy free.

Would it have changed the goal? Tough to say but he would have given himself a better chance.

Disagree. The team is going forward. He should be pushing on to give them an outlet wide and high. Hardly his faulty his CM can't play a 5 yard pass.

Pfffttt, expecting midfielders to make 5 yard passes. That's his mistake right there. Too much time playing in Hudson's aligned tika-taka NZ setup, that's the problem.
