Considering how many people there are in Germany...it probably is.

Shouldn't this be in the young kiwi outside the UK thread then. Don't need a new thread for everyone playing in the fifth teir of any division!

I started this thread and I tend to agree, probably better to merge him into the Young Kiwis thread now, until such a time as he (hopefully) develops his game enough to play in a higher league.

In addition of Cameron Lindsay and Michael Fitzgerald, Dominique Jourdan could be another option in the future as a big defensive midfield as replacement for Elliott and Brown. For now the first candidates to replace them are Dan Keat and Michael Mcglinchey but maybe Jeremy Christie could be another option if he signs in scotland this summer

Is this guy even under the eye of Ricki?

Seriously?

That's the 5th tier of German football and aren't their something like 11 5th tiers in the regional leagues at that level?

It's the equivalent of the English Conference divided by 11 in a nation who's depth traditionally drops off significantly below the Bundesliga.

I'd be happy to know he's nowhere near Ricki's radar until he's playing at a credible level.  This is German Pub football.

I would change the title but although I started the thread I can't figure out how to edit the title. Also can't get the link to come out clickable?

When we are saying fourth tier in German football I assume we are talking about their fourth division (i.e. The opposite of League Three in England?).

Except that at that level it's not all professional and there isn't just one division at this level there are five. Alzenau have just won promotion to this level.

So it's kind of the 4th tier but it's also the 8th tier. Pub Football.

The Regionalliga Südwest is the best/second best of the "4th tier leagues", because this is are more districts in one league, but Bayern Alzenau is a worse club. The best for Jordan is only that he have a good promotion place for higher leagues and clubs.

Nope, its getting pretty decent. The 3rd Liga is fairly recent, nationwide league dropping the regional leagues to 4th tier, and promotion for the 4th tier regional leagues is to the 3rd Liga. There are a few professional teams, a lot of bigger teams have their 2nd teams in the regional leagues, a few are up in the 3rd Liga.

They are at the very bottom of one of five divisions in the 4th tier.

Would we follow a kiwi playing for Rushall Olympic or North Ferriby United?

I would think the 4th tier is at least equal to conference football in England. A lot of current German internationals have played a decent amount of football at this level until their late teens/early twenties.

At the top end.

If it was 1 division maybe but we're talking a side that got promoted into the level this season having yo-yod previously.

Pub Football.

He is still going to be coming up against players of a decent level (potentially future internationals), even if his team might only be good enough for a relegation battle.

I turned out in Cap 7 last year.  Rest assured that doesn't mean I'm a Cap 7 quality player :-)

Hey, he may not being any good. Still think 'pub football' is a bit too far.

Pub football maybe not.. but it's probably not much higher than the Central Premier League!

Yeah.  I'm just being patronising.

He should probably go on the Youngsters outside the A-League thread or whatever instead of his own thread these days though as at this level he's unlikely to be on any radars here.

IMHO he is probably in a better environment than playing ASB Prem/Central. If he gets game time he will be playing the ~16/18 games left of the season at a level similar to that of ASB Prem. It seems unlikely they will stay up but if they did he could get 34 games at that level and also some cup football next season. As I said before, a lot of current German internationals have played at this level. HN is probably right though that he probably shouldn't have his own thread.

Gee, only stayed at Fc Eddersheim one month and now at Sc Viktoria 06 Griesheim in the Hessenliga.

Hessenliga (Wiki): "The Hessenliga (until 2008 Oberliga Hessen) is the highest football league in the state of Hesse and the Hessian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier."

The "Regionalligas" are the fourth tier and there are five - North, North East, West, South West and Bayern (Bavaria) , covering larger areas than the local state leagues like the Hessenliga.

I suspect that some of the teams like FSV Frankfurt's reserve team would be considerably better than teams in say our top regional leagues. After all FSV Frankfurt narrowly missed promotion to the 1. Bundesliga in May, finishing fourth in the 2. Bundesliga.

Table: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/hessenliga/startseite/wettbewerb_OBLC.html

His team sit ninth in the 19 team league but are not far off fifth spot.

This league is the top league in the state of Hesse and includes reserve teams of: FSV Frankfurt from the 2. Bundesliga (second tier Germany), SV Wehen Wiesbaden from 3. Bundesliga and Kickers Offenbach (a large club with a 21,000 capacity stadium relegated from 3. Bundesliga to a regional league in May for bankruptcy but usually a 2nd or 3rd tier team).

How does he know that the training at that level is better than in NZ?

BTW how does Dominique qualify to play for NZ?

Is he been paid to train?... seems like his career has stalled. A new scene might be good for him.
