Attacking mid I seem to recall.
NB Interesting to see Napier City's new English signing, 20 yr-old striker Ryan Tinsley, scorer in the weekend, was on Nottingham Forest's books - maybe at their Academy.

Yet another player gets a contract overseas that had nothing to do with W*llington Phoenix
Remind me again why we need a Club in Aussie league.......

Youth scholarship. It's why the Phoenix need a team in Aussie national youth league

To give you something to moan about?
Dylan is super young, and was still playing ASB Youth League. If the Phoenix had a reserve team then yes, maybe he'd get a look in. But there's no way he's good enough to be in the actual Wellington Phoenix squad, and if he gets a shot in the UK then it'll be good for himself and NZ Football.

Auckland will rise once more
As you've pointed out there have been plenty of young kiwi's head to the UK and go nowhere, ending up at the Kingz, Knights, Nix and being found out here too.
I hope that Dylan isn't one of them but there is a long list of players heading back to 1999 of young kiwi's not kicking on in the UK then also failing in NZ/Aus.
You are wrong ak Phoenix. Let's get as excited as all hell!! Hope it works out for him

Last warning Aces. Keep it on topic.
If you want to Phoenix bash go form your own forum. This is for supporters of the Phoenix. Or you could try the ACFC one. Although I see it has a total of 1 post in the last month.

Ooh Burn.
See Aces, it's not that hard to stay on topic.
Just watched the videos on the Nike Football Facebook page, the coaches were certainly impressed by Dylan throughout.

Must be fun using a forum to belittle a great achievement most of us can only dream about because you get a kick out of being a troll. You represent everything that is bad in NZ sport. Worst case scenario for Dylan Burns is that this is his career high. Best case scenario for you is that in 20 years time you're still moaning that there's no promotion relegation into the Asian Champions League for Central United.
I say good on the kid for doing well so far, and let's hope he kicks on. It's true many others have not, and it's also true that you can succeed because of or in spite of pathways that are there, such as the Phoenix. Ultimately aren't we supposed to be fans of NZ football and celebrating all that is good?

At least you acknowledge that ending up at the Phoenix is going nowhere
NO stop trolling...
what I'm saying is this: just because a young kiwi ends up at an English, American or European team does not mean that they are better then the Nix, often the reverse as some of the examples above show. Also just because a player is a flyer for ACFC, Waitak or whoever, does not necessarily mean they would make great professionals (eg Totori).
Interestingly Kris Bright falls into both camps.
Again to reitierate, I hope Dylan proves this pattern wrong and does a Chris Wood and not a Jack Pelter.
It is odd that is seems to be our young CB's recently who are going over and not making it, where as previously it was our midfielders generally struggling.
Pelter, Musa and Adams etc.
A sign our style of coaching is changing?
Can't help but note the irony of someone who supports a club which is almost entirely funded with money from pokie machines referring to the Nix as a "parasite club"
People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.
So we are all moving on now. Going to start deleting ones that are off topic.
Head coach if Nike academy for last 3 yrs has just gone to forest to head up the academy there.

Aces be the new nufc_nz/aj_13. Neither original or interesting
Good on Burns. Great to see and a DM!

Probably explains the signing then.
Great news for young Dylan....I hope he makes a go of it and ends up with a good pro career somewhere.
Kind of wished he had been picked up by a lower level continental team. England is awash with young talent and the vast majority of them never break through to the top rank. There have been many kiwis who have got a youth contract in England and then gone nowhere. Contrast that with Thomas and Tuiloma. Thomas has gone straight into playing Div 1 in Holland and Tuiloma has broken into the Marseille senior squad......both in their first year
don't think he really got a look in for u17's did he?
Big Pete 65, Christchurch
Isn't he 15? which would mean he'd be likely for the next U17s

A couple of goals in pre-season for Forest U18s and a trip to Spain for a few games too.
1st game of season at Millwall Saturday UK time
Must be doing alright if he is getting taken over to Spain. I'd would have thought that would be for first teamers only.
Can't be doing much alright - he hasn't yet made a single appearance for either Forest's Academy or their U-21's in league games. Something strange going on we don't know about?

Maybe injured or some such as he was singled out for praise in the last appearance he's mentioned in on August 11 in the pre-season friendly win over Aston Villa Academy:

His twitter feed has dried up. You'd think he'd say something if he was badly crocked.
