Alloa lose 1-4. They stay 4th (a playoff spot), but they will likely need to get past Falkirk in the playoffs to get promoted. Full game Stanger.

Alloa Athletic (4th) host Dunfermline Athletic (1st - already promoted), in last regular season round.

Pro/Rel playoffs to start next week, involving League One teams 2nd-4th. So Falkirk, Airdrieonians & Alloa.

Stanger's old club Hamilton Academical (2nd last in 2nd tier Championship), look most likely to join those 3, League One (3rd tier) clubs in playoffs.

Inglorious game for Stanger. Sent off early at 24 mins (2nd yellow). Alloa were 1-0 up at the time (2-0 on agg). They actually grabbed another goal soon after, at 32 mins to go 2-0 up (3-0 on agg).

Then it all turned to custard, losing 5-2 (5-3 on agg). Was 5-3 by 52 mins!
Stanger's send off obviously a big moment in the game.

Season over for Stanger & Alloa. 3rd tier Scottish football for next season.

Good write up, Ayr's head of recruitment, Keith Glendinning has a keen eye on George:
Stanger, 22, said: "I seem to have followed Keith around a bit as he was involved in my signing for Hamilton and had a fair say in me going there, so it's nice that he's here at Ayr now.

Ironic that George is coming into the Championship and Hamilton got relegated.

First goal for his new club in a 2-1 win over Premiership outfit St Johnstone in their League Cup match this morning.

Good start for his new club - Two wins, One draw (+ bonus penalty shootout win) to sit top of their group.

Hopefully a promotion chasing campaign once more for Ayr who finished 2nd in the Championship last season before being humbled 8-0 (H+A) against Partick Thistle in the playoffs.
