Ayr's patchy forms continues with a 1-0 loss. Full game Stanger.
Ayr remain 3rd but they are now 10 pts behind Falkirk (1st) in the sole automatic promotion spot.

Ayr upset 5-2 win over 10 man Falkirk (send off 8th). Full game Stanger.
Ayr still 7 pts behind Falkirk, but this win gives them some hope they can still grab that sole automatic promotion spot.

Stanger a full game as Ayr get a crucial upset 1-0 win.
Aussies Ryan McGowan and Tete Yengi both full games for Livingston.

Stanger one of 5 Ayr players who got a yellow.

Unfortunately Falkirk (1st) won, so they stay 7 pts ahead of Ayr (3rd)

Ayr in some good form now, win 3-0 and go up to 2nd.

Stanger off at 78 mins (3-0)

Stanger full game in a 2-0 win.

After a slump around Nov-Dec, Ayr now in a good run of form, and still a chance to challenge Falkirk (1st) for that automatic promotion spot to the SPL.

Niche Cache.

Stanger only has six months left on his contract and English League One clubs are poking their head around the corner. Exeter City and Lincoln City are the two that have been specifically rumoured, though whether that’s based on real information or just fans connecting dots is another matter.

Ayr continue on with a 2-1 win. They had a player sent off at 76 mins (2-0).
Full game Stanger.

Ayr (2nd) close within 2 points of Falkirk (1st - with a game in hand).

Ayr's fans will be gutted if Stanger leaves in this window, with them now a real promotion chance. From memory it's a long long time since their small club was in the SPL.

Gils are 17th in League Two, 11 pts above the drop zone, and 13 pts below the promotion playoff spts.

He must be tempted to stay with Ayr, they are a chance of promotion to the SPL.

Him & McGarry both leave this window, suddenly no Kiwis in the top 2 Scottish tiers.

League Two doesn’t get him back in AW contention tbh. Unless there’s a dramatic injury crisis.

If Ayr can get up, he’ll be a local hero and also he’s a better shot at a recall to the All Whites from the SPL surely?

Still, there’s no guarantee of they will get up and the money is better in League two?

I suspect he'd be on better coin in Kent. Ayr is a pretty small club.

Stanger still in Scotland and starts for Ayr. Dylan McGowan who got 12 mins for the Socceroos back in 2017, suits up for HA.

Ayr win 2-0 Stanger with a 85th min goal
Ayr go top of table with Falkirk still needing to play

Falkirk played on Friday & lost to Livingston, but yes they do have game in hand on Ayr.

Ayr in a great run of form, and genuine SPL promotion contenders.

Tough decision for Stanger to stay, or head south of the border.

Good time to score when you are attracting interest. He's knocked in a couple this year.

I reckon he'll stay at Ayr, to see if they earn promotion.....unless Ayr want to raise funds before he leaves on a Bosman

Match highlights. Both goals come late on, including Stanger's.

Ayr in the yellow. Stanger's goal a scrappy corner poke in (6 mins into the highlioghts video), but he looks very happy to score in front of Ayr's travelling faithful. Not the emotion of someone about to leave.

From Wiki. So there will be some excitement around their small club at the moment

.......club have spent 34 seasons in Scotland's top division, the last being 1977–78

Is Scottish second division comparable to our national league?

Odds on it will be a higher level. It's fully professional for starters.

For what it's worth. Brynn Sinclair went from Petone to Scottish 3rd tier. Oliver Colloty Auckland United to Scottish 4th tier.

Our NL wouldn't even be 6th tier in Scotland

Stanger full game in a 0-1 loss.
Iredale subbed oiff at 90 mins for Hibs, who also had Socceroos Triantis & Boyle.
Lewis Miller an unused sub.
