@JRBrockie  Sounds like  a short-fused, short arse with a short attention span short of a few memories... like the previous game, ffs!!

haters gonna hate, mate..

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

TFC kick off at 8am. Earnshaw is out injured again, so Brockie will probably start.

0-0 at HT, TFC looking much better, more like the effort they put in against Montreal. The NYRB coach wasn't happy in the half time interview, called their performance pathetic.

Harsh words from commentator... Get rid of entire squad, except maybe Nelsen and one other

MLS Save of the Week contender by the NYRB keeper there!

Ends 0-0. TFC dominated the second half but just don't know how to score.

Would have scored but for that top save by Bulls keeper

God no. Having lived in Toronto. They get rather nasty when it comes to sports

Didn't Vancouverites try to burn the city down when they lost the hockey a year or two ago?

They sure did.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Toronto is playing Columbus, a derby match slightly lesser degree of importance than vs Montreal. except it'll be a snoozefest likely

I never noticed it before this Toronto stint but he has been doing that a lot, just the other Toronto guys haven't been on the same page. He hasn't been scoring the goals but it has probably been the best I've seen him play consistently.

Great finish to that game. Nice to see the fans going off like that. If they can get a few more victories like that before the end of the season at least they can have some real hope going into next year.

So given how the Nix off season has gone, and the fact that Brockie has hardly set the MLS alight, does anyone else think the loan may have been a bad move in hindsight?

If anything it seems to have hurt his chances of being a starter by letting everyone else get a chance during the off

Brockie performed very well in a crap team at TFC. The experience surely did him some good.

Talk from Toronto FC of hoping to sign Brockie next year after the completion of the coming A-League season:

Payne also said there have been some preliminary discussions with the Wellington Phoenix, a New Zealand member of Australia's A-League, about keeping Jeremy Brockie. The Kiwi striker is on loan to Toronto through the end of August.

"Anything longer-term with Brockie would likely happen next year," Payne said. "They want him back for their season. But I think there's a possibility that something could happen after that. We've got a good relationship with the club. I think Brockie's really enjoyed himself here."

Is there a chance TFC could buy Brockie now, with an agreement to loan him to the nix for this season?

That doesn't sound like it would be in their interest financially. Not sure what motivation they would have to do that when they could wait till end of season and negotiate with him when he's off contract. He is off contract at end of season isn't he?

Still 2 more seasons on his deal, so they will have to buy him. TFC are not going to be making the play offs, so no big rush to get a deal done.

TFC play at 11:30am Monday, if any one is interested. Live on TAB Watch & Bet.
