Toronto are really riding their luck. They need to keep Caldwell when his loan expires, he has been a great addition for them.

they are playing so compact that it seems houston can make space if they drag them from side to side

Brockie coming off the bench just seems to raise their tempo every time. I don't know why Nelly isn't starting him.

Not sure what Nelly sees in Silva. They have looked much more dangerous with Brockie up front. We moaned about his work rate all season but he has been putting himself about a lot during his minutes on the park.

Brocks was a lot better today. Played pretty well. Good impact.

Silva is an AM playing striker right now. When on his game not only he can pass, but he can finish too. (like a really, really poor version of Totti) Though I agree that Brockie is playing better than Silva right now.
I also think Nelsen likes the option of an impact sub to change the game and force opposition to adapt.

5am kick off for Toronto tomorrow. NZ u20's kick off at 3am, so you may as well stay up for both games.

I think that should have been a pen on JB.The defender looked like he lifted his foot and tripped him

RSL score with a stunner just before the break. Toronto really unlucky to be behind. Brockie had a soft penalty shout turned down.

Toronto needing a serious dose of luck here

The standard isn't as high as I thought it would be, particularly with the wide men. Can only play off one foot and don't appear to have that much actual technical skill.

Brockie has disappeared a little in the 2nd half too.

Bugga, couple of late chances to tie it up. They just don't seem to be able to create many good chances. On the plus side Brockie will be fit as a fiddle when he comes back, he has been running all over the park.

That was a terrible game to watch...a bit like a bad A-League game. There are plenty of players with very low skill levels. Im' sorry Ryan but your team is dreadful to watch. They couldn't pass their way out of a paper bag. Our Brock's looks like the A-League Brock's....missing in action(and without the million dollar goals) but to be fair his service is rat's arse poor!!!!!!

Brockie's main problem is that his movement is terrible.  He just doesn't make good runs.  I wish he was at pre-season with Merrick rather than doing this, I don't see how his game is going to be improved

From what I have seen of MLS the defending is of an OK standard.....players don't get long on the ball. Pace and movement have never been Brockies main strength.....if he is static he will be easily marked out of games in MLS. I guess he will have good  match fitness when he comes back but I kind of agree that he needs a good spell under Ernies coaching preseason. Ernie has said he wants a fast striker at the Nix....you can see why. Brockie, Stein, Ifill are hardly going to rip up the A-League with pace.
