far out. That's why he is so frustrating. I mean it takes some technique to hit a cross like that with the outside of your foot. From a highlights reel Brockie would grace any league in the world. Problem is in between these moments of utter brilliance he goes missing. Good to see him scoring goals. You have to keep him around the all whites set up as even though his record for the all whites is average he could just be the man to score the next wonder goal..
Sounds like Brocks was involved in other chances too and had a great game all around:

That wonder goal:
Brocks needs to work on his dancing
He does love to score the screamers... remembering his goal at the end of last season.
If he could finish taps ins... then wow.
Brockie Van Basten (said wiv an Afrikaans accent)
"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...
I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

His goal at the Beijing Olympics vs. China in 2008 wasn't bad either - great pass from Craig Henderson:

His wonder goal against the Tardery nearing end of last season was better
Ah yeah, was at that game - didn't mean a whole lot considering we got pummeled before that though. Sweet free kick too. Even Melbourne fans were applauding him. (easy to do when you've got a certain win, but still)

Was always a fan of this goal
Was a friendly game between the NZ and Aus U23's I believe

Friendly with Australia u-23 at North Sydney Oval July 2008 preparing for the Beijing Olympics (where Brocks became the first Kiwi to score in the Olympic football - see above video for that Beijing goal vs. China).
Brockie scored both NZ goals in a 2-3 loss.

Plus: "Arnold has added Chris O’Connor, James Holland, Leigh Broxham and Matt Simon as alternate players for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, whilst Nigel Boogaard will also join the squad as an additional train-on player. 2008 Australian Olympic Team members David Carney, Adam Federici and Neil Kilkenny will not be participating in this camp due to club commitments in Europe."
A lot of familiar names in that Aussie squad in the link above.
But Nathan Burns was controversially omitted from Graham Arnold's Olympic squad - he never rated him. Oh, dear...
http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/80045,arnie-its-no...
FIRED up Olyroo coach Graham Arnold said the Olyroos was not a development squad for the Socceroos and defended his reasons for leaving Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite out of his squad. "It was form over 20 games," he insisted today. "Statistics, go have a look at statistics [on Burns and Djite]. "I spoke to the players, they understand the reason. In that time, we've had a lot of heat testing, physical testing, tactical testing. And I had to then make a decision on who was the better player. And the players I probably have in the squad here are better players. The only one who probably wasn't tested over the time and could be a bit of a shock could be Rukyvysta."
Many of the attacking players in Arnold's selection have turned out not to be a patch on Burns of course...
MATCH REPORT:
Qantas Under 23s Hold On for Victory Over New Zealand
FFA Media Release Saturday, 12 July 2008
The Qantas Under 23s have held on to defeat the New Zealand Under 23s 3-2 at North Sydney Oval today courtesy of two goals from Mark Milligan and superb strike from Kristian Sarkies. The Qantas Under 23s sought to impose themselves from the outset against a New Zealand team that was looking to get some much needed match practice Mark Milligan opened the scoring for the Qantas Under 23s in the 26th minute when he headed home a Kristian Sarkies corner at the far post. But two minutes later Jeremy Brockie equalised for New Zealand with a header himself from a free-kick. Kristian Sarkies grabbed the lead back for the Qantas Under 23s in the 38th minute when he latched onto a poorly cleared ball and finished with aplomb from 15 yards out giving his team the lead going into the break. The second half saw the Qantas Under 23s continue to apply the pressure and Stuart Musialik cam e close to extending the lead with a stinging shot only to see his attempt intercepted by the New Zealand Defence. Jeremy Brockie equalised for New Zealand on the hour mark when he beat three defender at the edge of the box and coolly slot home past the advancing Qantas Under 23s Goalkeeper Tando Velaphi. Mark Milligan scored the match winner in the 78th minute when a free-kick from Sarkies was floated into the box to a sea of bodies. From the ensuing goal mouth scramble, Milligan reacted best and fired home from close range. Speaking after the match, Qantas Under 23s Head Coach Graham Arnold was happy with result but was realistic about the areas his team need to work on "We have been working a lot on our combination play and I was very pleased with our performance in stages. "If anything I was a little disappointed that we didn't get on the end of things. We should be able to kill those games off earlier. "At the moment I'd say that we are around 75% fitness levels and over the next three and half weeks we want to increase that by another 20-25% to peak in China. "We do need to work on our defence. The first goal came from a set move so we need to improve on that. "But overall we played some good football and now we are looking towards the opening match of the Olympic Games against Serbia on the 7th of August', concluded Arnold.

Pevs, Tinkler, Hogg and Pelter did play pro for awhile either before or after the '08 Olympics. I've always been surprised that Scott has yet to play pro anywhere although I'm sure he got payed well at ACFC.

Woops meant Waitak (one of those sides north of the Bombays anyway!). Point still stands about ACFC and maybe Waitak previously paying players through other means... "coaching" etc
Played at Waitak not ACFC - not good enough at top level - doesn't have the pace needed. Saw him play v Honduras I think at Harbour and was a pace shy of what's needed at that level.

Jeremy definitely enjoy his stay in SA
Norwich City supporter since 1992, New Zealand supporter since 2010 but without Rory Fallon's winning goal against Bahrain, I won't know about New Zealand Football.
So how many goals does he have in how many games? Hard to keep track.
Despite arriving so late in the season, he'd be near the top of the goal scoring chart.
I base this only an earlier post which said the super sport league is one of the lowest scoring professional leagues in the world.
Scored this morning but SuperSport are currently losing 2-1
Supporter For Ever - Keep The Faith - Foundation Member - Never Lets FAX Get In The Way Of A Good Yarn
6 in 12 in the league. 2 in the cup. Top scorer is at 13 from 28.

So is that his season over now?
Sure is. 30 league games, but they do have 3 separate cup competitions which are pretty much all just modified versions of league cups, so with a good run can still get 34-35 odd matches. SuperSport won the league cup this season too, although that was before Brockie arrived.

And were knocked out by Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in the semi of the Nedbank Cup on 26 April (SA's version of the FA Cup)

Jeremy Brockie managed a goal in Supersport's first competitive game of the season tonight. The Pretoria side lost 3-1 at Kris Bright's BidVest Wits side in Johannesburg in the MTN8 Cup. The competition is an annual event which is contested by the sides who finish in the top 8 of the PSL the previous season.
Wits won in extra-time after Brockie scored the equaliser on 56 minutes. Michael Boxall also played for Supersport as part of a back 3. Kris Bright did not feature for Wits as he's still awaiting his work permit from Home Affairs.
