I say take him. We need a right back and he's the most likely to fill that spot.

Boxall will. Boxall Durante Themi Doyle. Fenton Adams (if no Smith) Musa Colvey

He's a left back though not a right back, Fenton and Boxall can cover RB

Two footed player... great asset.

Is he not at a critical stage in his career? Is a training camp really the best thing for him right now? Hope he speaks to Tuiloma before making a decision. Bill put country before club at a critical stage too, and it's fair to say it didn't help him.

Nix should get him on loan. Plays both sides and could prob start at RB (better than fenton or gulley)

Colvey back at San Jose after his loan spell at feeder club Sacramento.

He was an used sub as San Jose beat Real Salt Lake 2-1. His first time in a match day squad for 2 months, so hopefully over any injuries,

but like some others he'll be short of match fitness for AWs friendlies.

San Jose still have an outside chance of making the MLS playoffs, lying 6 pts behind Sporting KC who have last 6th playoff position currently in Western Conference. San Jose have a game in hand

kip looked terrible in the Islands - I think he is another AH project. That and the fact he is already State side probably got him the gig.

Happy to eat my words. I thought he did well in both games. I can now see why he got picked up by an MLS franchise. Well done Kip.

Was back on the bench for the Quakes last night. Only a few more games left in their season...

In the last match of the season Kip Colvey remains on the bench. This season Colvey played 6 times for their USL side (Sacramento Republic FC) and 4 times for the Earthquakes playing 414 and 314 minutes, respectively, for a total of 728 minutes season long. Colvey didn't contribute a goal or an assist but he also didn't earn any cards.

Now playing in USL for Reno 1868 (just admitted as a new team to USL) who like his previous USL side Sacramento, appear to operate as a  feeder outfit for MLS side San Jose Earthquakes

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reno_1868_FC

Anyway was a real Kiwi matchup in the USL with Reno drawing 1-1 at home to Whitecaps II.  Colvey plus Wynne and De Vries (both Whitecaps II) all featured for the full 90 mins. Ben McKendry also playing for Whitecaps II.

A few days ago played full 90 mins for Reno in 3-5 loss away to Real Monarchs (Utah).

Is back at SJ and played a game for the first team in a 2-1 win in the US open cup against Seattle Sounders.

Kip played the full game.

Seems MLS sides use the Cup competitions to give some of their 2nd string players a game, cue Wynne's debut for Vancouver Whitecaps first team  a few weeks back.

Expect to see Colvey back playing for USL feeder team Reno

Good they had a win though, means they might get a closer look in.

Earthquakes have a new coach so this game was a chance for Kip to impress.

Colvey keeps his spot in San Jose's matchday squad, but is an unused sub as Earthquakes pinch a very late (winner 93 mins) 2-1 win verus LA Galaxy in front of over 50,000 fans.

Colvey again an unused sub as 10 man Earthquakes lose 2-4 away to Atlanta in MLS. Niggly game with 8 yellows, and two reds both given to San Jose players (32 mins & 93 mins).

Another big crowd I note of  45,000 fans. I guess is the 4th July holiday stateside.

Pity Colvey is only bench warming, and not playing in front of these large crowds. Could do with the experience. I thought looked like he 'froze', on big stage at Confeds Cup verus Russia.

Colvey in his role as an unused sub, as Earthquakes beat LA Galaxy again (3-2 this time), this time in US Open Cup. San Jose progress to the semi finals.

Info is vague, but doesn't sound serious. San Jose near bottom of the alphabetical list

Not sighted for San Jose today, and hasn't played now since 11th July (injured). Like Durante will turn up for AWs next week without any football of late.

Quakes win 3-0 to stay in hunt for MLS playoffs. Unfortunately no playing time for Colvey.
