90 mins in a Texas derby, as RGV draw 1-1 with San Antonio. San Antonio needed to win to make USL playoffs.

RGV's season is over.

Adams played 25 games with 24 starts, both as a left back and a CB (FYI is 185 cm).

Must be coming under consideration for AWs - depending on future availability of others.

Playing at higher level than say Brotherton for sure.

Full 90 and the captaincy armband for Kyle Adams as Rio Grande Valley kicks off the USL Championship season with a 1-0 loss to Tacoma Defiance (Formerly Seattle Sounders II)

Just been doing a bit of a read up into the relationship RGV have with MLS side Houston Dynamo, and found this

The hybrid relationship between the Dynamo and RGV FC in which the Dynamo control all aspects of soccer operations, including employment of the technical staff and player selection, while RGV FC manages the business side of the club, was unique in MLS when RGV FC was launched in 2016 and has quickly been emulated by multiple MLS clubs over the past year.

Very interesting (to me anyway) that Houston controls all football aspects, but definitely bodes well for Adams that he's already been given captain's duties. He's only 22!

He also spent time with Houston in preseason both last year and this.

RGV draw 0-0 with New Mexico. Adams not in match day squad.

Five Houston Dynamo MLS players were apparently loaned to RGV for the weekend, so perhaps that why he wasn't involved.

Actually signed on a short term deal deal to Houston Dynamo!

Congrats to Adams.

I presume Houston have some injuries and/or international players involved in the Gold Cup.

Hopefully he gets some MLS game time.

The Houston Dynamo signed Rio Grande Valley defenders Kyle Adams and Andrew Samuels to Short-Term Agreements, making them available for the club’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round match against Austin Bold FC later this evening at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Adams sat on the bench for Dynamo during their US Open Cup (UOC) game midweek. A 3-2 win over USL side Austin Bold.

They have another UOC game midweek against Boxall's Minnesota.

Per MLS rules, clubs may sign players from their USL Championship affiliates to Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) for U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League and exhibition matches.

Definitely a short term contract then, but good experience for him no less. Good reward for some consistent performances at USL Championship level over the past season and a half.

Apparently has just got a Green card, that will help him.

I like how he's got the NZ at the end of his twitter handle, gives me some hope. Someone make an account with 'kyleadams_USA' or some other variant and we should be able to lock him in...

Goal obviously at the end of vid. Not sure he knew much about it.

Not much of a crowd. Soccerway says 2,408.

Maybe all the local football fans were up the road at Houston, watching Bayern verus Real Madrid. RGV are based at Edinburgh basically on the Rio Grande & Mexican border.

I think they have some Houston MLS squad players on loan at the moment, which has pushed Adams to the bench.
