Full game in a 2-0 loss at Indy Eleven (4th Eastern Central Conference). Rare inter conference game. Mata not in match day squad.

Real Monarchs still last, Western Mountain Conference.

From Flying Kiwis.

Kyle Adams & Max Mata (Real Monarchs) – Real Monarchs have lost six games in a row and are last in their conference. 15 points behind their closest rival. Kyle Adams has only missed three games all season though, he’s a leader at the back like he always is at this level. Max Mata not quite so much. His first campaign in the USL has seen him mostly used off the bench. 16 appearances but only half of them were starts (688 mins all up). He’s scored one goal.

Back for Real Monarchs after a few matches out, and full game as RM (last Western Mountain) draw 0-0 with NY Red Bulls II (7th Eastern Atlantic) in the USL.

Rare inter Conference game. No Mata in match day squad.

Full game and a yellow for Adams in a 3-0 loss to his old USL club Rio Grande Valley (RGV). No Max Mata.

RGV 5th in the Western Mountain Conference, with Real Monarchs 7th and a long way last (19 pts behind 6th).

13-year-old striker Axel Kei was subbed on for Real Monarchs, making him the youngest pro athlete in American sports history. 2007-born, genuinely unreal

Adams a full game in a 4-3 win over Austin Bold (4th Western Mountain Conference). Max Mata an unused sub. Real Monarchs last same Conference.

Lots of shenanigans at the end of this one. 2 RM players & 1 Austin player sent off at 84-88 mins.

Adams with Monarch's goal in a 1-1 draw with Colorado Springs (2nd Western Mountain Conference).

Max Mata a rare start of late and 87 mins. Real Monarchs remain last same Conference.

Pretty good result for RM who were down to 10 men from the 13th min.

Starting as San Diego host Sacramento Republic. Probably taking N Boxall's starting spot from last game.

Edit - has the opening goal as San Diego lead 1-0.

Adams starting as San Diego Loyal (2nd in the West) host Charleston Battery (10th in the East) in the USL. N Boxall on the bench.

Edit - SD win 4-1. Adams 83 mins, and Boxall subbed on at HT (score 3-1).

Loyal have drawn a juicy US Open Cup tie in the next round, LA Galaxy.

Battle of the 2 Conference leaders in the USL.

Boxall & Adams both starting as San Diego (top in the West) host Louisville City (1st in the East).

Edit - East trounces West. San Diego lose 2-5 to Louisville. Full game Boxall jnr & 73 mins Adams.

Some drama in this one. 6 yellows & 2 reds over the game.
Louisville player sent off at 56 mins when they were up 3-2. Score stayed that way until San Diego had a guy (3rd CB with 2 Kiwis) sent off at 81 mins, Lville score from the pen and then a 5th late on.

San Diego stay 1st in the West for now

Starting as San Diego travel to glamour MLS outfit LA Galaxy in the US Open Cup. N Boxall on the bench.
https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/04/20/united-states/us-open-cup/los-angeles-galaxy/san-diego-loyal/3778945/

'Little Pea' Javier Hernández on the bench for Galaxy.

I remember Marinovic playing a German Cup tie a few years back when he was at Unterhaching and Hernández was at Bayer Leverkusen.

Edit - San Diego's cup campaign over with a 1-0 loss. Full game Adams. Hernandez came on at 77 mins, and Boxall a bit weirdly for a team chasing an equaliser at 93 mins

LA Galaxy II (10th in the West) host San Diego Loyal (2nd) in the USL.

Adam starting & Boxall jnr on the bench

San Diego were knocked out of US Open Cup by senior Galaxy side a few weeks back, so after some measure of revenge returning to LA to play their 2nd team.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/05/29/united-states/mls-reserve-league/la-galaxy-ii/san-diego-loyal/3728624/

Edit - San Diego up 2-0 at HT.
Edit 2 - finished a 2-2 draw. Galaxy II scored twice after 93 mins, the 2nd by a T Davila

Full game Adam’s and Boxall an unused sub

San Diego Loyal (3rd in the West USL) host Hartford Athletic (11th in the East).
Adams starting & Boxall jnr on the bench. Seems the trend of late.

Edit - Full game Adams with a yellow, and Boxall subbed on at 86 mins (score 3-0) in a 3-0 win. SD stay 3rd.

Full game Adams, and San Diego's first goal in a 3-2 win.
Boxall came on at 68 mins, either just prior or after Colorado had equalised for 2-2.

San Diego were up 2-1 when they had a guy sent off at 65 mins.

But then with 10 men, SD grabbed a winner away in the 81st min.
They do remain 3rd in the USL West, 2 pts behind Colorado (2nd) and 6 pts behind 1st placed San Antonio (Collier's team).

Nice header from Adams. Interesting that he is starting before Niko Boxall. Assist (corner kick) from captain Charlie Adams

Cali derby as San Diego (2nd USL West) travel up the Pacific Coast to 'god's waiting room' and Orange County SC (12th).
Same old, same old. Adams starting & Boxall jnr on the bench.

https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2022/07/31/united-states/mls-reserve-league/los-angeles-blues-sc/san-diego-loyal/3728759/

Edit - a 3-2 win for SD. Winner late on in 85th min.
Full game Adams, and Boxall jnr a token sub on at 94 mins.

Disappointing lack of game time for Boxall of late. I thought he looked pretty handy at that OFC tourney in March, though admittedly the opposition weren't great. San Diego play with 3 CBs as well.

They stay 2nd, 7 pts behind Collier's San Antonio (1st)

Another 90 for Kyle Adams today as the Loyal keep on rolling - a 1-0 win over fellow Californian side Monterey Bay. That's five in row for San Diego and keeps the gap to 4 points at the top of the West (San Antonio won 2-1 today too, & still have a game in hand).

https://int.soccerway.com/matches/2022/08/11/united-states/mls-reserve-league/san-diego-loyal/monterey-bay/3728778/

Nikko doesn't get the token appearance this time and sits on the bench.

Wonder if Kyle is going to be looked at at some point in the future for AW's duty? Was on the periphery with Houston Dynamo a while back and still only 25 and going great guns with his club side.

Next up for San Diego though - A trip to 'Bama to take on Birmingham Legion this weekend.

Adams surely comes onto AWs radar, from 2023 if any of Reid (age 34), M Boxall (33) & Tommy Smith (32) retire.

Maybe even for Socceroos in Sept, if some these guys are unavailable. Smith currently in a moonboot apparently.

Yeah surely he has to come in. He’s gotta be our third best centre back under 30 behind Tuiloma and Pijnaker, maybe fourth if you count Payne. Surman the other stand out young CB, obviously at a much different stage of his career though.
