Still injured and therefore not involved in a 1-1 draw with Arezzo.
Fano will be kicking themselves having conceded the equaliser in the 95th minute
Luca Scimia (L'Aquila 1927 | Italy)
Not on the team sheet and presumably still injured.
This time Fano go down 2-0 to Modena are back to 2nd last. Admittedly it's still early times and there's about 7 teams only divided by 7 points, so a couple of wins could see them climb up considerably.
Again absent from the match day squad and likely still injured.
Fano lose 2-1 at home after going ahead.
The game was postponed by a few hours. This might have been covid related but nothing has been confirmed so far.
Back from injury. Subbed on in injury time in a rare win, 1-0 over Triestina.
Fano 3rd from the bottom with 2 W 8 D 8 L so far
Another injury time appearance for Luca who comes on in a 1-1 draw with Gubbio. Fano unbeaten in 2 and are 3rd from the bottom
Subbed on in the 84th minute in a 0-0 draw vs Perugia
Subbed on in the 84th minute in a 1-1 away draw at Padova. Second week in a row that Fano go a goal up before conceding an equaliser. Still, encouraging signs.
Talk about winning a 6-pointer! Fano with a shocking 4-0 thumping of Carpi overnight.
Scimia came on in 74th minute, the score was already 4-zip in their favour.
The new coach is doing quite well. They've had a bunch of draws and a couple of wins since he came on.
Fano up to 17 and within 6 points of 13.
Scores in 88th min to put Fano 2-1 up at Sambenedettese (5th).
Unfortunately home team scores again in 95th min (pen) to make it 2-2.
Fano remain in the relegation playoff spots - a win would have taken them just clear on GD.
Bloody classic. I miss one update mad he goes and scores a goal!!! ?
Looks like he'd only come on in the 33rd minute of the second half so just about 19 minutes before he netted one.
They could really use a win but stil they have a fighting spirit I give them that. I still reckon they have a 40% chance of somehow avoiding relegation!
Post-match interview with Luca, If you can understand Italian!
Interviewer: "A good reaction [from the team], even with 10 men - and then your goal that gave us a taste of victory"
LS: "Yes, from a personal perspective I'm very happy. Shame about the end of the game, we were almost there and could have taken the 3 points home with us".
Interviewer: "How did you see the game, generally speaking?"
LS: "Even with 10 men we played bravely, we even took the lead. We are very sad about the last few minutes as we could have got the whole three points which at the start of the second half was almost unthinkable.
We are a tight group, one that never gives up. Now let's think about Saturday's game vs Imolese which is a very important match for us".
Interviewer: "Do you want to dedicate your goal to someone in particular?"
LS: "I want to dedicate it to my family - that are always there for me and to my girlfriend".
Imolese v Fano postponed due to heavy snow
Subbed on in the 71st minute with the score 1-1 vs Cesena. Then Fano hits the post from a free kick, the Fano goalkeeper saves a penalty in the 80th minute, Cesena are given another penalty in the 94th minute and take home the 3 points!
Subbed on in the 71st minute in a 2-0 win vs 10th placed Mantova. Score was 1-0 when he came on. Fano jump to 16th on the table.
Subbed on in the 64th minute in a 1-1 home draw vs Ravenna with the same score (the away team has just equalised 4 minutes earlier). Fano up to 16th place.
Post-match interview with Luca, If you can understand Italian!
Not really. More like a Marche/Abbruzzo (around the center of Italy) one... You wouldn't be able to tell he was born in Auckland, same as Kirwan who has a very neat northern Italian accent
Full game in a resounding loss 3-0 to high flying Sud Tirol (2nd).
Appears to have played in the midfield in a 4-3-3 formation. Fano stay in 17th place.
4 minutes later he goes on to score the equaliser. His second goal in the last month.
It ended 1-1.
Fano remain 17th but only 5 points behind 14th place.
All over in 33 minutes.
Sadly for Scimia he gets dragged after 35, possibly an injury, but also maybe a tactical choice. Will try to find out. Doesn't help that Fano's FB page is down
Arezzo had taken the lead on the 16th minute and despite having a few chances and hitting the bar, Fano were unable to level the score. A real missed opportunity, Fano are now 3rd last whereas a win would have skyrocketed them to 15th!
Fano are currently 17th-equal on 31 points. To avoid the playoffs they need to catch up to Vis Pesaro who have 6 more points, with 4 games remaining the prospect of Fano being in the play-outs is real
Fano missed a penalty. 8 minutes' extra time were given due to an earlier injury to a linesman.
Fano now 17/20 but Imolese (18) have a game in hand
Scimia's team on the other hand are now set to be in the play outs. Scimia not involved in the match
The away side with the equaliser in the 87th minute.
Fano stay 3rd last and firmly on the playouts.
Scimia not in the match day squad
Fano are now set to play Imolese on the play outs.
No Scimia in the match day squad.
Sounds like he was omitted due to having caught Covid, along with several others in his team
No Scimia as he's still grappling with covid-19.
His unlucky season ends with 525 minutes played (a third of what he achieve last season with Rende), 26 caps (4 starts, 22 times subbed on and 3 times subbed off), 4 yellow cards and 2 goals scored.
Still only 22 years old with 3 consecutive serie C campaigns under his belt, he may be picked up with one of the many other Serie C sides during the summer.

Looks quite handy and taller than I remembered. Some nice touches and some good goals. Bear in mind, the first third of the video is him playing in the youth leagues with Pescara.
Last I heard, Fano had applied to be re-admitted to Serie C as a number of clubs were demoted (and are now going through the appeal process) due to administrative and financial issues.
He might be biding his time to see what happens there...
Maybe this decision will push Luca to find a new club?
From what I can gather, Fano have been on the good side of this decision more than once so their luck has turned. Sounds like they have issues with their stadium which also played a part.
The fans are not happy about being back in the semi professional Serie D (4th tier). Also Fano has made no signings so I'm not really sure how they're going to field a team this year. I get the feeling they were putting all their eggs in one basket (hoping to be let back into Serie C). They will probably just sign a bunch of journeymen from the lower leagues. I would write them off in terms of promotion hopes for next season.
Still no news on Luca and what he's up to. I've scoured the net far and wide. Hope he gets a club. I think he's not a bad player but needs to be in a decent club to show his worth.
But if he doesn't find a team soon he runs the risk of being unattached until the January transfer window
