Spain all the way the top 4 teams in la liga are miles ahead of everyone else but a lot of the lower table teams regularly recruit from some pretty humble competitions no better than the A league. He can speak the language well and the size of the player in la liga seems to be much less of an issue some keepers such as australian Mat Ryan even fall under the 6 foot mark.

Huh? I think that is his 4th assist. He even set one up for Berisha against us last week!

He also missed an open goal in the 1st half.

Oh fair enough, the website I checked had it wrong. 4th assist of the season then!

So he's first equal in goals and outright first in assists, early days yet but looking good for a Mooyesque return to Europe.

Mooy had 2 fantastic seasons before moving back to Europe, I hope Marco does similar. He probably needed 1 more season dominating the A-League previously.

Wonder if the City Group will look at him for one of their affiliates

Jeez, give him a break. There's no need for a player to score 100% of the time and better players than him have missed easier chances.

Lucky he had a two year deal then. He could also go to Italy, victory own a serie d team so might have connections.

Meh, every player has horrendous misses - you could put a blooper reel of all the easy misses for all the top strikers in the world, I'm sure.

What is telling is that he came back from that and put an assist on a plate for Austin and generally played well.

I doubt Rojas is going to become a better player by playing in the A-League. In Melbourne Victory's system he can dominate and is probably one of the best defenders in the league. His problem is that he lacks physicality and he won't progress in the a-league. If he wants to be successful in Europe, he would have been better off going to Netherlands straight away. Dominating the league might give Marco a great deal but I don't think he needs a good deal. He just needs playing time in Europe.

Rojas went to Europe too late, rather than too early.

It really surprises me [in a good way] that he has performed so well so soon after coming back to the A League. I thought for all money that his confidence would of been shot after his stint in Europe. I know there have been snippets of comment on what went wrong over there but I'd be keen to hear some more on that from forumites.

A-league is weak compared to The Swiss league and the second Bundesliga and you'll find much more space in the midfield there compared to the later leagues?

Set up Berisha for the equaliser had a chance to win the game as well from reports. 6 goals 5 assists from 6 games a goal or assist every game this season in Messi fasion. Hopefully Berisha is less upset with him for the assist ha seems to be really thriving from playing in front of a more defensive fullback in Geria maybe something Hudson should note.

Is Rojas not well known enough to merit having his name in the headline? That's disappointing.

Check out the highlights of victory vs jets. Bit of a master class from the wee winger. A foot in every goal.

Pretty sure that is 9 goals and 7 assists in 9 games now, not a bad return.

Talk that Rojas could be looking to go to Netherlands this week to expedite the move to a unnamed Dutch club.

Interesting. At 25 Marco is still young, but he has already lost the 'child prodigy' image which propelled him on to Stuttgard and really needs this move to go well. I think Holland is a good place for that to happen, competitive but miles away from the likes of Spain, Germany, Italy, UK etc.

No matter what, I hope it works out well for him.

Looks like he's off to HC Heerenveen, subject to a physical.

Trouble is, the right wing spot's already taken by Arber Zeneli who's one of the most hyped up young talents in the Eredivisie, only 22 and Heerenveen will want to play him. So maybe Rojas'll have an attacking mid role, helping him to settle there at national level as well?

I hope not. The main reason why he failed in europe in the first place was because he was played in an attacking midfield role, he can play left wing fine so hopefully thats where he will go.

Unless Zeneli is on his way to a bigger club and Marco is his replacement

I just hope he isn't wasted again, left wing's always an option and Zeneli can play there, but they're very similar kinds of players so a straight swap makes sense

Spoke to a Heerenveen fan quite a bit about this! He's saying that Rojas will be a star to build the team around, this Zeneli guy had a pretty big form dip so apparently Marco will be the starting RW. He'll have strong competition there from Zeneli and a name you might remember, Martin Ødegaard. Won't be playing LW as they have Larsson, one of the best wingers in the league and a Sweden international. Quick players who dribble a lot quickly become legends in the Eredivisie apparently, hope the same can be said for Rojas

Debuts off the bench at 77 minute mark in a 3-3 draw versus Groningen. Frantic finish with late goals both teams

Can moderator also please update Rojas's club. Cheers

Rojas briefly features in highlights as he controls ball nicely & then shots well over the bar.

Bit of an amazing late equaliser from Heerenveen. Long ball from goalie, ball bounces untouched, and then headed in.

And just like that, Heerenveen's sold their best winger Larsson. Rojas guaranteed to be fighting for the RW spot with two other strong candidates, Zeneli and a Serbian I can't remember

I hope Marco has a great season.

I always thought that Holland was a better place for him to play. In Germany there were just too many big athletes for him to contend with. Little tricky guys often do well in Holland
