I'm picking injury... I doubt after two games they would cast him aside.

He's come off the bench, done ok and is still very new to the club.

what's most impressive is the neat triangle. Pass and a direct run to receive the ball. So good to watch.

What I liked best was his intent, after starting the move out wide to quickly get into a scoring position. A lot happened from his first pass to his finish and he anticipated where to be. Should be good for his confidence too, hopefully he can get a good run of form going.

Spoke to a Heerenveen fan today. He had this to say:

Coach is saying that because Rojas still isn't fit enough to play 90 minutes, Odegaard also could play as a right winger (Odegaard played good on CAM yesterday). So in fact he's saying that Rojas will be the right winger when he can play 90 minutes.

He says all the Heerenveen fans have been impressed with his tenacity and dribbling, they want him to start :)

makes sense, he didn't have a proper pre-season with them and it would be wise use him as impact until he is at the required fitness level to save him from further risk of injury.

Expect to see more appearances and hopefully starts for Rojas, his main competitor for the right-wing spot (Zeneli) is out with a broken foot.

Two main reasons:

-He's in a much better team than Zwolle - Heerenveen has tons of solid competition on the wings, including the one and only Martin Odegaard of Madrid infamy, even then Rojas is managing to start.

-The coach said he doesn't have the fitness required yet, so he's been subbing him on mostly. But their main left winger broke his foot, so Rojas has been starting.

Personally I think he's better than Thomas. Although they play in different positions in the Eredivisie (Rojas winger, Thomas centre mid) I'd still say Rojas is the superior at what he does :) Thomas is by far the best player in Zwolle but in a team like Heerenveen he'd struggle to make the first XI.

The only difference between the two is, Rojas was talked up massively in the news whereas Thomas came on to the scene quietly... oh and the fact Thomas is much more influential at club and international level.

I can see Thomas joining the likes of Rufer, Nelsen etc as one of our greatest ever players.  Not 100% sure that Rojas will achieve that.

It would be interesting to compare the way the two play their games. It seems to me that Thomas has a better all round game (and quite a different style of play at that), but Marco at his peak can be absolutely unplayable and do things that other players simply can't. Remember Marco played that peach of a ball for our goal against Japan. Marco has more to prove at this point, but it still seems quite possible that he could.

Either could emerge as hero in these play-offs and if we are really, really lucky- both!

Thomas more consistent and looks to have a future in the middle, Rojas the quintessential winger - bags of talent, doesn't always use it.

Recovers from flying around the world, playing 30 mins for the AWs, and hanging out with the local lasses in Lima (may have that order wrong) - to sit on the bench for Heerenveen as they beat Twente 4-0 away.

Seems to have fallen out of favour with the coach as Heerenveen struggle in the league with one win, one draw, five losses in their last seven league games.

Marco has only played 43 mins in the last month (two sub appearances).

And that’s with a few of their other wingers out too. Bad times

He is the ultimate confidence player. Last season at Victory he was obviously comfortable and stood out for the AWs. This season not going so well so far but hopefully he can get back on track soon

That would appear to be a recurring theme unfortunately.
