Crocs in the EPL next season?!
Millwall up to 3rd.

He's certainly gone ahead of the injured Benda, though when fully fit Jensen probably comes back in.

If anything can be taken from his season so far at Millwall, is that he is certainly Championship quality. Fans seem to love him, and he hasn't yet been on the losing side every time he's taken the pitch. If the form keeps up Crocombe is making it harder to get Jensen straight back in the fold - Don't upset the apple cart so to speak.

Happy he's getting his chance now though. Exactly what we need to see heading towards 2026.

I was looking at Jensen's career, and apart from last season in the championship, he has had 2 seasons in League One, so it's not like he is a level up from Crocombe.

If they continue to win with him in goal, he will hold his place regardless of who is fit.

To be honest I'd overlooked Jensen's history too, so thanks for the background. I'd fallen into the trap of reading social media and the fan feedback given he seems a very popular figure at Millwall, so I completely glossed over his playing story and career in general.

I still really rate Crocombe's willingness and ability to come in to a setup and simply just knuckle down and work hard regardless of whats going on around him though. He seemingly always does what he needs to do to get to the top of the pecking order - Did it at Grimsby in the National League, and then managed it again (albeit in a shorter space of time) at Burton Albion at the beginning of the 23/24 season.

If you're the #1 keeper ahead of him at any club you definitely can't be resting on your laurels if he's sitting waiting in the wings, because he's just one of those guys that gets a chance and he nails it. Really good stuff, and long may he get the opportunity to shine.

Even last season (2024/25) at BA, they started with a new gaffer who wanted more a keeper playing out, so Crocs commenced the season on the bench.

But the new gaffer didn't last long and after a few months Crocombe was back as the no 1 in their successful grind to avoid relegation.

Paulsen may have passed him in the AWs rankings, but you want Crocs there pushing him as hard as possible. They might end up sharing the two games in November.

Frustration for Millwall, concede a 2nd in the 96th min for a 2-2 draw at Oxford.
Crocs in goal.

Millwall drop to 4th.

Shows the insane growth our national team has had over the past decade. Pretty cool that we're at a point where we are even discussing a bloke currently starting for a club at the pointy end of the championship, NOT being our starting keeper. Will feel for him if he doesn't get any minutes at the world cup, he's had such a cool career arc

Millwall coach Alex Neil: “I think in the main he’s done well. Obviously, we want to limit how active Max is. We want to make sure his kicking’s good and different things like that, and his talking’s good. I think he had a good game. Had a little scare in the first half, where he takes a little bit too long on the ball, and the lad shuts him down. He made a good save. Probably a little bit fortunate that it ends up going out the other side of the goal from there. Over the piece, I’ve no complaints. I think Max has done well.”

There you go, some praise from the gaffer. Always nice. Especially since there’s a chance that Steven Benda could return to fitness after the international break while Lukas Jensen, the actual number one who has been out with an achilles injury since April, is back into light training now so he could be a factor again in a month or two.

Pressure’s on Crocombe to deliver and so far he seems to be doing enough. Crocs is a more inaccurate kicker than Benda and does a lot less sweeping outside his area. But he’s got a much better save percentage, is stronger in the air, and seems to command his defence more confidently. The only goal he conceded in the 1-1 draw against Preston North End was down to a terrible pass from a defender.

Full match in a 3-2 win today. Millwall up to third.

Have to say I really dislike the club and its fans (a prison wire tunnel to the stands for away fans!), so I hope these starts springboard him on to even better things.

Highlights. Crocs 3 good saves, can't save a pen, then makes another good save, only for Saints to score from the followup.

Millwall's 2nd goal a screamer.

Max Crocombe was involved in a wild game for Millwall, coming from a goal down to be 2-1 up after 81 minutes against Southampton, conceding an 87th min equaliser, then seeing teammate Tristan Crama score the winning goal on 90+7’ to give Millwall a 3-2 result. Crocombe was fantastic, making seven saves (four of those from shots inside the penalty area).

Massive result for the Lions who rise to third on the ladder with that. They’re only two points behind second-placed Middlesbrough for an automatic promotion spot. Great timing with that Crocs performance because having seen off the challenge of Steven Benda,
last year’s number one Lukas Jensen just made his return from an achilles tear with an appearance for the U21s.

No one throws hands, no one pushed to the ground even. Series of angry group hugs break out would be more accurate!

AND….another Crocombe clean sheet!
How many now? Great job.

Nice road win for Millwall as they climb to 3rd.
Bristol City 7th.

Coventry (1st) already 7 points clear of Middlesbrough (2nd).

.....we’re hanging out in the Championship, don’t overlook Max Crocombe’s Millwall who are chilling in third place after a 1-0 win away against Bristol City. He made three saves within that win, continuing to hold it down (even during some post-match brouhaha). Fourth clean sheet in ten league appearances for Crocs this season.

Last year’s number one Lukas Jensen just played his second game for the U21s on return from an eight-month achilles injury - he won’t be ready for a little while longer so this is prime time for Crocombe to keep those levels nice and high.

Unlucky, 89th minute equaliser, losing the win and his clean sheet.

Though checking a bit closer. As Coochie says 0-0 for almost the whole game then an oggie a piece in the 81st and 89th minutes. Bit of an unusual thing!

Wouldn’t it be great to have a Premier League keeper next year?
