That's a very stoic celebration, shades on a try scoring 1970s All Black.

Minny finished 11th, dissappointing for them, and wonder if they will do a bit of a rebuild now with a new permanent coach to be appointed. Will have to see what that means for 35 yr old Boxy.

Big day for Kiwi Cameron Knowles, though just on an interim basis.
He's coached Minny's 2nd team in MLS Next Pro last few seasons after leaving Portland Timbers II.

New Loons sporting director Khaled El-Ahmad hired Eric Ramsay as head coach, but interim coach Cameron Knowles will lead the team in the opener at Austin.

Two days after Minnesota United's new head coach, Eric Ramsay, signed on the dotted line, interim coach Cameron Knowles will lead the Loons into their eighth MLS season.

Knowles has coached in MLS for 12 years, but never in a game as head coach like he will Saturday night at Austin FC.

The Loons are back after making changes at the top following last season's 10-13-11 MLS finish, which left them 11th in the Western Conference.

Knowles is getting his chance as the club's second interim coach since Adrian Heath was fired near the end of last season. The first interim coach, Sean McAuley, left to take a USL head job in early January. Knowles was promoted the same day, while the club waited for newly hired sporting director Khaled El-Ahmad to start the job and hire Heath's replacement.

So presumably Knowles goes back to being an assistant coach for now. Might be one to keep an eye next time, AWs head coach role is vacant. Maybe Bazeley could even bring him in as a helper with the 2026 WC, given he's already stateside and obviously knows (excuse the pun) M Boxall.

From highlights looks like Boxy struggled a little in this game. Columbus are reigning MLS champs. Week prior again just from highlights he played some nice raking pinpoint passes forward against Austin

Boxy full game, and the bragging rights in a 3-0 away win in North Carolina

Though some good news for Tuiloma as he gets another start and 90 mins at CB. A veritable feast for him the last 2 weeks, after previously zero MLS mins since July last year. But his team have conceded 5 goals in his 2 comeback matches.

From Flying Kiwis.

Herdman becomes the 21st Kiwi to grace the American top flight (MLS). He’s the first new debutant since the 2020 season when Winston Reid and Noah Billingsley each joined the crew. Simon Elliott still leads the way with 247 MLS games (including playoffs), though Michael Boxall is on track to surpass him if he plays another season after this. Boxall is one of three NZers to have played MLS for Vancouver Whitecaps, with Stefan Marinovic being the other. Lots of reserve team footy at VW from the likes of Deklan Wynne, Myer Bevan, Francis de Vries, and currently Finn Linder... but only those three have made it to the Major League.

Could very well go down as a club legend whenever he decides to hang up the boots.

He’s a dead set legend at Minny. Pretty sure he has most appearances in their short history, and often does some cool stuff on field with his kids post game which fans love.

But yes, it has to be in the pipeline. I think he's only 1-2 appearances away from making 200 MLS appearances for the Loons as well. I'll have to check my little black book and confirm that one though.

They beat New York Red Bulls 6-2 today.

Suarez a hat trick & Messi a goal & 5 assists!!  Miami had 8 starters from Latin America. The coach is Argentinian

Minny come from behind to win 2-1. Boxy full game in a back 3/5, which looks like is the shape the new permanent gaffer likes.

One of Boxy's CB partners was sent off post 90 mins. 
Minny (24 pts) stay 2nd in the West, but they have 2 games in hand to 1st placed RSL (28 pts)
