If he wins a contract do we have to recognise Hudson as a man who can identify talent? Will we have to start looking at young Rufer again in a different light will we be ok?

21 Jun 11:18

Hudson wasn't the first person to realise he has talent.

You know we belong together...

His musical coach? Art teacher? Because it's hard to see what his footballing talent is

This. Moses has been known to be easily in the top few players forr his age group in NZ since he was very young

I also understood he was suspended for a a serious amount of time because of something he did at school boy level? Can't remember the details of it.

he threw a shoulder into a referee in a heated semi-final between Ellerslie and Onehunga Sports in the ACFC U17's tournament - was one of three Sports players sent off in that game.

I saw his instagram story, he is currently with a player from VFB Stuttgart.

So everywhere he is getting told he is a little bit poo. I wonder if Hudson is taking note.

Exactly. If he can't even get into the squad of a Danish 2nd tier team at such a promising age, and we've got multitudes of players in the Swedish and Finnish top 2 divisions who aren't getting a look in for NZ, something's up
18 Jul 02:50

Having watched him play since he was a young kid, I feel somewhat sorry for him in that he was picked by Hudson when we all know he was not at that standard by any stretch of the imagination. One would also expect an under 20 coach to form his own views, but we all can see that Bazley is just a puppet of Hudson, so all the way through Dyer is being set up to fail. He is a nice young man that was pushed too far too soon and the reality of his actual ability is being judged internationally now. I fear the same for Dane Ingham, who along with Dyer showed me nothing at the last 20s to suggest they were ready for more. Potential, yes, but risky pushing them ahead of time, and particularly when we have seasoned pros excluded.

Now on trial at Crewe Alexandra in England (League Two). He played in a friendly against Alsager Town with the u23s. Apparently he did quite well.

Decent league as well, much better then Scandinavian teams. Hopefully he can do well and improve.
21 Jul 00:30
They have one of the most famous academies in England too, certainly the best from the 3rd tier below. If anyone can develop him well as a professional while being able to give him game time, it's Crewe
21 Jul 05:54
Wait he played for the crewe u23 side?

Can we change the name of the thread to Moses Dyer (Colorado Rapids) in anticipation?

Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Just seen him on the new Rebel Sports ad, pretty sweet deal for a Premiership player.

Yes, for all the stick he has had on these forums, it was cool to see him used in the ads.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Loving the new hair too. Just saying.

11 Mar 06:14

Lost his head against city today. Started making some cynical fouls and mouthing off at players. Reminded me of Ravel Morrison for some reason.

18 Mar 20:38

What a disgrace, sent off again for needless yellows, lets down team and club.

Thread title change please.

Has singed a one year contract with Florö SK in Norway, they are in the second tier of Norweigan football. Anyone no if it its pro or semi pro?

Congrats to him. Is a low level for sure, but he’s had some over the top nasty stuff said about him. Wasn’t his fault continuously picked for AWs. Hope he does well overseas. I note is only a 1 yr deal. He probably doesn’t have a Euro visa. Is up to him now, but will need to play at a higher level to merit AWs selection again, in a full strength like side.

The league is semi-pro officially, although there are probably times when fully professional clubs compete in it. Doubt that this club would be one of those, they're dead last with half the season gone.

Moses Dyer signed for Floro on level 2 in Norway. Bottom team per now, finished mid table last season. The difficult second season for a promoted team.

Lots of semi pro or amateur teams have fully pro foreigners, when I was at uni a girl I knew was going out with a foriegn player for the Wellington basketball team and if he wasn't fully professional he might as well be. They paid for his hotel and gave him a perdiem that had him spending a fortune on eating and drinking out and living a party life.

28 Jul 04:56

well apparently the all whites playing in the local comp are on all big bucks, so must be a better package to make him want to go all the way around the world

Auckland will rise once more

That is a beautiful place to live in the summer.

Maybe it's not all about the money?

01 Aug 23:20

Made his debut from the bench (came on at H/T) as Florø moved off the foot of the table with a 1-0 home win against Tromsdalen.

Good start for the kid, and a good little confidence boost helping his new club reverse some poor recent form.

Unfortunately Floro effectively lose a 6 pt game, 2-1 to relegation rivals Notodden

Floro now confirmed for the drop to Div 3, with one league game to go.

Dyer missed this game - he is maybe injured after he was subbed at only 58 mins last week - and not even being in the match day squad this week.

He actually scored the winning goal 2 weeks back in another match. He has played 7 games, and was an unused sub another 6 times.

Be interesting to see if he can get a pro gig elsewhere. Or back to Eastern Suburbs. I doubt the Norwegian 3rd tier pays much.

It was the case that even the 2nd division was regional.  There were 4 regional leagues all at 2nd division level.  When you drop to 3rd division, you're talking more like 15-20 regional leagues.  I'm going back a few years :)

05 Nov 02:36 · edited 15 Nov 00:22 · History

The 2nd tier (1. Division) is definitely currently nationwide.

The 3rd tier (2. Division) appears to be split into 2 regional groups. So would be a piss weak league, in a nation of only 5 million people, and all those alpine sports going on.

Perhaps the Norwegian 3rd tier, and the AWs most recent goal scorer (winner against India back in June), are destined for each other.
