Those stats suggest he's a decent player, and clearly not as 'accident' prone as some have labelled him on here.

I think he would of been a good pick up for the NIX of AFC. Hopefully someone in the UK thinks so to.

Nice cryptic response YH.

So which is it the Nix or AFC?  There are no loose lips here, your secret is safe with 100 souls give or take a few!

I reckon it maybe the Nix. More obvious need for an experienced CB, and someone recently posted that another (can only be non visa now) CB maybe incoming.

But then I've also heard AFC will be signing at least 1 more Kiwi, plus the 4 extra visa guys they have space for.

Come on YH spill the beans!   Anyway wherever it is, good news at last it's sayonara to the LOI.

Weren’t the Nix rumoured to have been looking to bring in a local CB back in January? If I remember correctly it was supposed to be either Pijnaker or Stanger, but the deal failed right at the end when the player decided to remain in Europe?

Deliberately ambiguous from me unfortunately. 🙊🤐

I know how quickly word gets out across Facebook, Twitter etc. Like I said though, you shouldn't have too long to wait for your answer.

Pijnaker potential at the Nix? Hmm. Like it if so!
Wonder about playing out from the back. But we’ll see.

I’ve criticised some of his performances in the past and unless he proves otherwise I don’t see him as a starter for the All Whites. That said, I think he’s good enough to forge a career for himself at A-League level and would take him at the Nix.

Just after I had been saying ex Ole alumini were never likely to play in the ALM.
But maybe it's like my career is going nowhere in Eire, I've seen how Surman got picked up by a MLS team, after a great ALM season - so why not me. Maybe the Nix guys in AWs have waxed lyrical to Nando about the defensive coaching abilities of Adam Griffiths

If (IF) the signing is true an excellent pickup for the Nix. For sure Pijnaker's had some shaky moments for the AWs, but he'll have a bit more time & space in the A League verus playing Sweden, Egypt etc.

Has a really nice long cross switch, and generally pretty good on the ball, like most out of Porirrua.

If it is true, Nix really starting to now form a strongly competitive, very seasoned squad. Lots of experienced guys coming in with Rojas, Retre, Nagasawa & likely Ishige. Potential Pijnaker an 18 cap international. Even Oluwayemi has a few years behind him as a pro (more than Paulsen). Certainly more experienced than last season.

Still think that tall Plan B striker would be handy, but Chiefy doesn't seem too fussed on that, so in him we trust.

No Pijnaker as Sligo beat Waterford 2-0. Their website said he has a head injury, but that might be cover for an announcement very soon in NZ??

He'd be a great pick-up for the Nix.

As much as I bag the loi its probably not that far behind from a skill point of view.

He'd probably be on a better salary down here too.

If he's not cracking a better league by playing well in LOI, he's just seen that it's possible to get a good move by performing in the A-League - more and more international eyeballs on the league every year.

I would expect that's factored into it.

Adam Griffiths with a blossoming reputation coaching defenders, at both WSW & the Nix, maybe another factor - especially if your career is sort of stagnating like Pijnaker. Where can I go to be a better player.

Guys, I hate to burst your bubble here. But it's Auckland...

Danny Hay impact... but how many CB's does one club need unless they are looking at playing 3 CBs maybe??

It's the Nix. Welcome Nando.

I blame Ninja! But yeah bugger I got it so wrong he's not coming to the Nix.

Happy he's leaving the LOI, but feel the Phoenix would have been a better fit than AFC. Wonder if the Nix did actually approach him?

At AFC you imagine he'll be directly competing with Smith for that left sided CB spot. So one AW CB on the bench every weekend. Also not great news I imagine for Callan Elliot, as likely means Sakai will be staying at RB??

AFC could have bench of current & former AW defenders if Galloway starts ahead of de Vries.

Pijnaker sure loves hanging out with Max Mata, AFC will be the 3rd club they have been at together.

Interesting read - the club has turned down offers for him over the last few windows. Obviously the numbers weren't good enough prior to the Auckland bid.

AFC have paid a fee according to Sligo. Even if we were in for Nando I doubt we do that.

Now I feel kinda annoyed!

Not Nando’s fault, but it does make me think we need more defensive depth.

If Auckland are sharke this season (which I personally am hoping for in a cynical, schadenfreude type way), they'll be tanking a lot of fringe all whites/depth players chances of selection at this point. Half of em probably won't even be starting at this rate too

Just shows that outside our top 14 odd nz players we still don't have amazing depth.

Lots in professional environments but not many playing at a decent level consistently. Give it another 10 years and hopefully it'll be different...
