Don't actually know all that much about the lad, but good to see we now have a player on the books at a pro club in Spain.

Mrsmiis, I'm sure you can fill in the gaps on the young fella, as I can't say I know overly much about him. 😅

Awesome to see, I was worried he would just languish at “Club Costa City” and never actually kick on to a pro environment

Something from 6 years ago.

And Elche announcing his signing. Youth deal presumably.

Sick!!

He's 17y/o, a great technical player, left winger predominantly. Started off at Napier Marist before a stint at a Barcelona academy in 2020. Went viral online for a video Barcelona posted of him doing keepy-uppies on a treadmill during COVID. After a spell back in NZ at the Ole Academy, Riley joined Club Costa City in 2021 and rose through the youth teams there (of which there are many). Trained with Atletico Madrid U19 in 2023, coached by one Fernando Torres

Eligible for England and Bermuda, curiously. Never been in a youth NZ camp, perhaps due to lack of proximity. Turned 17 in December 2024, frustratingly, so not eligible for this year's U17 World Cup

As always, I knew you'd have the intel on him. 😎

Niche Cache dug out that video from back in the Covid lockdowns, 5 years ago (April 2020).

Wonder if Greenacre will have a look at him for the U20s. Presumably there will be some camps in NZ, once the ALM & Euro seasons finish. Guess he's up against a host of guys like LBS, GSR, Walker, who have had a taste of senior professional football.
