Kiwi Players Elsewhere

Though I don't quite understand Christian teetotalers, I'm sure Rory not a  bad bloke, a good role model and that's one of main reasons Hudson bought him back into the fold. If not supping from the devil's nectar has helped preserve his body - all power to him.

However wrong to say he has always been a patriotic Kiwi. He played for England age groups up to U20, but could have switched back in NZ when FIFA had a window in 2004 to allow changing allegiance for over-21s players. This year-long window was made available by FIFA upon introduction of a rule which allowed players with dual nationality to switch their allegiance before their 21st birthday. However Falloon chose not to apply. Hope I have that right!

Of course FIFA changed the rules again in 2009, removing the age limit for changing associations for players who had already played for a country's national team at youth level under article 18 of the Regulations Governing the Application of the FIFA Statutes. This allowed for the possibility of Fallon again representing New Zealand. Straight from his Wiki page!

So he only belatedly in his career debuted for the All Whites in 2009 at age 27. You can't say that the chance of playing in a World Cup, wouldn't have been a motivating factor in his decision to start playing for AWs. Lets not forget that!

Still if he is now leading the team culture, good to have him around.

Thats rich AP. You criticise players at times and when someone criticises your mate you lose your shark and start telling people they don't know what they're talking about. Rory has a style that isn't always effective. Nothing to do with his dad or religion.

Today I send a tweet to his twitter (or someone help him to handle) The Cowlick Creamery, ask for how can I purchase a T-shirt from them, and get the follow reply:

We will pass the message on, he knows about you and is thankful for your support. The shirts are £10 what size are you and do you want it signed. We can set up a PayPal so your money is safe. It will take a couple of weeks as it's very busy at the factory. Also send your address

People who work with him are also very nice I think.

See you are having a bit of a go at his old man on another thread on the same day you are offering your advice here. So my initial post seems to sum you up perfectly. Don't be a hater mate.

Just stating what his old man was like at Gisborne City, not to fussed about Kevin to be honest, he's served very well for NZF but has some weaknesses. I actually like Rory and his attitude. My point was about your bias not mine AP.

Honestly I would love to know which club will sign up Rory in the coming season? Did Rory say he had agreement with someone but just can't say anything?

Why do Norwich need Rory Fallon when they have Kyle Lafferty?

Permalink Permalink

The big problem is the Norwich manager did not rate Kyle Lafferty, and on my point of view Norwich need a target man like Rory Fallon.

I'd listen the yellow fever podcast but did not hear the group said Rory had a club but can't say it now, or did I miss it?

Rory said in the interview we did with him that he's doing pre season with a team - all lined up but couldn't say who it was. With his business in the UK i'd imagine it'll be back there and being based on the south coast it could be Plymouth, Exeter, Pompey maybe?

Hello David.I guess you are referring to this post.

I think PROAK does a radio show on a station on New Zealand. Not sure which one.Maybe Trackside?

As daft as it sounds and looking at the Phoenix team, he would not be a silly plan b in being something completely different to what we already have ala Griffiths (and I guess Watson)

If we hadn't signed Watson then i'd agree - but Watto is in a very similar mould.

Norwich need a target man like Rory Fallon.

You mean like Mbokani, Jerome and Lafferty? Norwich's issue wasn't Target men it was a lack of genuine Attacking Forwards and Poachers.

Sorry - no way Fallon should be at Norwich.

I would never hear the end of it from Hard News!

Rory has been announced as the Player / Assistant Manager of Vanarama South side, Truro City. They narrowly missed out on promotion to the Vanarama National League this season. Got a good set up down there and there was even talk of them going full-time for next season, but I think that was dependent on promotion. Article is here.

The club has an interesting history, probably "should" have been wound up a few years ago but came back from the bring of oblivion - still a lot of work to do but a nice wee story (including all their creditors being paid).

Go-ahead club. Been given the green light to sell ground for flats and move to a new 6000 seater stadium being built nearby.

In the million-to-one chance the AWs make the WC in mother Russia, I cant see Rory making the squad given the level of football Truro are playing......but I could see him being included in the coaching staff, given his positive personality

Yeah you need to be at least playing Aussie State League, Northern Premier or College Football in the US to make our team

I keep positive in this, he said he want another go to the World Cup and that's not lying, but yes it's not good for a country to rely on a 36 years old striker to lead the line, to play in the World Cup, but of course you see Spain; however, in this OFC Nations Cup, Rory show his worth to the team, his determination and leadership on the field is valuable, and can't replace at the moment. I can't see he will start for New Zealand in Russia if we qualify, but he will be in the squad unless there's a new 6ft4 center forward emerge to New Zealand Football.

He's contracted until Jun 2018 so he can't join Unattached FC when the World Cup play!!! :-P
