Would liked to have seen Boyd come in to be fair. Pretty much a like for like replacement - speed, similar stature, similar positions, playing in season, (rather than coming into it) and a European professional who by all accounts has been in decent form over in Portugal.

Came on as a sub in the 67 minute. Play really well, had some great dribbles and passing and ended up getting an assist, his third of the season. Game finished with Zwolle wining 2-0. Meing and Wamerdam securing a 2-0 win.

He played 45 minutes in the second half of the Round of 32 in the KNVB Cup against second division side VVV-Venlo. He didn't get a goal or assist but they won 2–1.
In the Round of 16 they will play FC Utrecht at home (8th in the Eredivisie).
In the Eredivisie on Sunday (Monday NZ) they are playing Go Ahead Eagles at home who are two places (16th) below PEC Zwolle. Great chance for them to get their third win of the season.
On Saturday Thomas played 90 minutes as a left mid in a 0–0 home draw against 18th placed Roda JC. PEC Zwolle are currently 11th on the table.
On Sunday the 20th they face Feyenoord (1st) away, very tough match.
Thomas' match has just finished and they lost 3–0 away to league leaders Feyenoord. Thomas came on at half-time, presumably slightly rested because of the All Whites matches.
PEC Zwolle are now 14th out of 18. Their next match is at home on Saturday against Groningen who are 12th and have the same amount of points as Zwolle. Hopefully a good chance for a home win and a Ryan Thomas goal or assist.

I don't watch Thomas domestically but just from a statistical perspective I had hoped that he would start scoring a few more goals. He is still young, he has had injures, he isn't a striker and he is in a poor team. However, I had hoped that by now he would be a 90 minute player and would be scoring a few goals. I don't have a clue whether other clubs in Netherlands would look at him.
He is one of our few pros in Europe playing at a decent level so hopefully he can stay there.

PEC Zwolle lose in the cup vs Utrecht 1–2. Frustrating as no goal or assist for Thomas, who was substituted off in the 76th minute, and both of Utrecht's goals came in the last 10 minutes.

Not particularly helped by his teammates, centre-back Schenkeveld was red carded and conceded a penalty in the 16th minute, leading to the 1–0. In the 61st minute van Polen received his second yellow. So 9 men PEC Zwolle lost 3–0, if you're an optimist you could say the scoreline could've been much worse.
PEC Zwolle now find themselves in 16th place, in the relegation playoff positions.
Now it's winter break in the Netherlands, with the next match being at home to Ajax, currently 2nd, on Sunday 15 January.

Zwolle conceded both goals, post 90 mins so must have been a frantic finale.

Also of interest is Thomas's ex-Zwolle team mate Trent Sainsbury getting a loan move to Inter Milan! Via his former Chinese club (who signed him from PEC), whose Chinese owners also have a ownership stake in Inter.
Still interesting where can end up on the pro football journey. Thomas was far more a 1st team regular at Zwolle compared to Sainsbury.

Well he has been looking bright recently and is one of there stand out peformers, you can't blame it all on him as his team has peformed well under what they should, also he recenlty came back from a long term inury. Personally would love to see him a NYRB so many games and easier to get to NZ.

Zwolle are only 4 pts above the relegation spots with 2 games to go, but the 2 teams directly below them (Roda JC & Sparta Rotterdam) both have a game in hand. So Zwolle far from safe.
If they did go down, Thomas would surely be moving on to another club.

Thomas's Dutch league season is over as Zwolle get touched up 1-4 by PSV in Eindhoven. Thomas played the full 90 mins.
Zwolle finish 15th and PSV 3rd, behind the other big guns Feyenoord & Ajax. Great finish to the Eredivisie with Feyenoord only a point ahead of Ajax. PSV beating Ajax 1-0, two weeks ago was the clincher.
As with likes of Tuiloma, Boyd & Marinovic be interesting to see what happens to Thomas club wise next few months.
