Junior doctors can have transfer between hospitals and it includes international transfers. Not to dissimilar to football transfers, I understand, so not a huge hurdle to overcome if they wanted to.

She is american though and I don't think he has any intention of moving to NZ - I think he'll retire after the WC
I've heard that he is going to do his coaching badges and work in American college football!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

That would be American college soccer presumably.

He'd probably earn comfortably more doing that than playing for the Nix anyway.  So good move him.  Will also help Kiwi kids out immensely I'd imagine, being the good lad that he is.

Guest spot? Two guest spots back to back? youth marquee? All Whites Marquee?

Maybe in the long term (following in the footsteps of Gavin Wilkinson) but based on his media interaction surely unlikely at the moment.  I get the impression that he's still a good year of two off from hanging up his boots.

I have a sneaking suspicion we (Nix/Ricki) are about to announce the capture of Mr Elliottt for us.

I don't see any other good reason to fly all the way to NZ just for a parade.

guest or marquee or regular...hopefully he comes and makes an impact in the A-league for Wellington...not that many big strikers to aim at though!

Any further development on the rumour of him doing the coaching in the states? That could possibly provide a good outlet for kiwi players to get a taste of college soccer. The facilities, fitness coaching and player development programmes over there are unrivalled by us. Even with a nix youth team, we'd still come a distant second to what is on offer over there.

I dont think that was due to any lack of trying from rickis side.
Elliott had made it fairly clear a few times he was hoping for something in the states due to his (girlfriend/fiancee/wife?) studying over there. And obviously it got to a point where hes made a decision that the longer he waited around without a club, the less chance there was of anything coming up.

Hope they both sign!

Would be absolutely great to see Elliott, Boyens, Keat, Boxall and Gleeson playing MLS. Fingers crossed they all show potential during pre-season.

Fantastic news. I really hope they get contracts. We need Elliott around for another year or two.

Great headline re Elliot and Boyens, sounds very dodgy:
"Wcup vets Elliott, Boyens on trial, hoping to get spot with Goats"
