Smith remains benched for Carling Cup Semi.
Wasnt in on Saturday's FA Cup game either.
Is Paul Jewell not a Kiwi fan?

He was on the bench recently under Keane, and today was the new managements first game in charge.

Good that he wasn't on, losing team and all.
Still not many 20 year olds would have got as much game time as he has this season in the Championship.

Hope tommy manages to get himself back into a starting spot. Do sometimes forget how young he is still, personally I was more impressed with him at the world cup than reid, possibly because reid had been hyped up a fair bit.
You would think though that surely in 5 or so years smith and reid will hopefully be first team at premier league clubs. promising future for nz football

Doesn't seem to be getting as much gametime under Jewell as he did under Keane, but you're right that's it's hardly panic stations yet, he's still very young

As above, by the time Keane got sacked he'd lost his place under him as well.

Smith was dropped by Keane for his last game in charge (a 1-0 home loss to Forest). He was replaced by Troy Brown.

How do you do it?

From a distance.
I mean, I realise it's not coalface football, but every once in a while it's nice to escape from Australian football.

Off to Colchester on loan.
Also went to London to sort his visa for China.

he will be picked up by another championship side if ipswich continue not to use him. he was playing quite well all season until - as happens in football - he was suddenly on the outer to accommodate the two veteran centre-backs (both who are internationals and good players in their own right).

little bit dissapointing however it will be good for him considering the situation he has been in at Ipswich lately. If he can be a regular starter at Colchester then that will give him some good experience and confidence to build on next season. good lad
