The preseason matches have been streamed on Nurnberg's youtube channel for those that are interested. Singh was a little bit quieter today, but still a decent performance for a preseason hit-out.
Sarpreet Singh (FC Hansa Rostock | Germany)
Dodgy Google Translate but looks like Singh started last pre season game, a 2-1 loss at Union Berlin.
Assist for Nurnberg's goal.

Great that Singh played the full 90 in Nurnburg's last pre-season friendly before the real action begins.
Looks like the manager sees him as an essential component of his side.
Interesting that there don't seem to be any crowd limits at games in Germany now with that article mentioning 5000 came to see that friendly.
Second assister. Slide rule pass from his own half at 2:36.
Seems to be a member of the Steven Adams Facial Hair Club too

faaark he looks filled out in that photo. i see he's made a big effort towards that from what he's said in interviews and posted on his socials, so good on him
Bayern put huge emphasis on their players physical conditioning, as do most clubs. But you do notice how powerfully built the Bayern players are. Singh has obviously been hitting the gym to increase his upper body strength. Either that or he has been hitting the bratwursts...I always put on kilos after visiting Germany LOL
Mustve been getting tips off Goretzka, that guys transformation was freaky
Is there anyway to watch the Bundeliga 2 games in NZ?
From memory, there used to be the odd game on Bein (the Monday night game which is a 2. Bundesliga tradition) and the highlights show, but I don't know if they still do that, I haven't really been paying much attention the last year or two.

Awesome thanks, will be tuning in, ordered my Sarpreet Singh home shirt with name/number and free Bundesliga 2 badge, their website even with English translation on was a bit hard to navigate, but think I placed my order ok :)

Commentary is in english and good quality stream, thanks!
Singh subbed off at 62 mins, still down 1-0. Not the greatest game from what I saw. Not very involved and gave the ball away when not under pressure a couple of times.

Finished 3-0 to Leipzig, who are a very good side after all. UCL semi finalists.
Nürnberg open their 2. Bundesliga 2 campaign next weekend against Jahn Regensburg

Leipzig must be the third best team in the Bundesliga after Bayern and Dortmund. I don't know if they played their 1st 11 but even if they didn't, they would have done their homework and made sure to shut Singh out of the game as much as possible, or when he does get the ball make sure all passing lanes are closed. Tough test for Singh but he'll be alright. When he first started to dominate the A-League he started to get shut down in a similar way, but within a couple of games he was able to shrug off the opposition attention as class players can do.
Wish he was playing a Bundesliga opponent every week to excelerate development of this side of his game, but the players in the German second tier won't be mugs and I'm sure he'll learn fast.
Yeah, it was Leipzig's first XI, and it showed in the first 20 mins (85% possession). They did seem to shut him down a fair bit, but he almost never touched the ball anyway - terrible game to watch tbh. He wasn't too bad though, played in a weird position - first as a pivot, then on the left wing, then on the right - none of them favoured by him
Leipzig are a top quality team. Nurnberg hardly touched the ball, and Singh made a few mistakes and didn't really have any impact. Tough game to watch.
Oh well, on to the next one.

Anyone know of a way to watch Nurnberg's regular season matches? Would like to watch this match if Sarpreet is starting.
Named almost as a right winger (formation on Soccerway anyway) it seems, as Nürnberg start their 2 Liga season at Jahn Regensburg

Subbed off at 69 mins in a 1-1 draw. Same score when he came off.
On the bench today
Singh on at 70 mins at 0-0, Nunberg score in 77th min to win 1-0.
No idea how he played as my German is useless and couldn't find a stream.

Yipe 20 odd mins in a 1-0 win over Sandhausen.
Was put through on goal, unfortunately hit right to the keeper
On the bench again, stream here if anyone wants to watch
90th minute sub. Came on at 2-2 but Nürnberg concede a late winner from a set piece
Subbed on in the 90th minute with the scored tied at 2-2. Gets to play only 5 minutes, but it certainly wasn't a dull affair as
incredibly, Darmstadt scored in the 93rd minute to win 2-3!
Nuremberg led twice, only to concede the equaliser each time, and finally the goal that lost them the game in injury time.
Sapreet and his team mates won't be happy.
Club is benching their two Bayern loanees, playing Singh out of position and in a style that doesn't suit him at all. With Bayern short on attacking midfield/wing talent as backup, Singh may be wishing he stayed

Surely Bayern are keeping a close eye on things. May call him back if things don't improve and loan him out somewhere else

The earliest they could recall him would be in the next transfer window, and even that is subject to the terms of the actual loan agreement.

It's not Nurnberg's role to develop Singh, nor to adapt their style to suit him. They brought him in improve their squad, and it's up to him to make that work for both him and the club. At some point he has to be able to swim in the professional waters, and that's exactly what Bayern will want to see from him, and not look for excuses.
Besides, considering that Bayern have brought in Choupo-Moting, Douglas Costa on loan, as well as Marc Roca (not to mention Sane), it's hard to see Singh seriously featuring in the Bayern squad any time soon, if ever.
I actually watched a few of Nurnberg's preseason matches and their first regular season match. Look, I'm a big fan of Singh and I really hope he does well, but if I'm being brutally honest he didn't show that much quality in these matches. I can understand why the coach has him on the bench atm.
The good news is that its still early in the season and I'm sure he'll get many opportunities, that he will hopefully end up taking.
I can seriously see him being the next Chris James or worse Marco Rojas if he doesn't get his act together. ATM i blame his form on Covid 19 with all the restrictions and not being able to have family visited.

You said the exact same thing about Cacace the other week, get some new material mate - its not funny anymore.
