Loving the updates mate. Really hope these young guys do well as it is so important for NZ football. Great to see Chris Wood make his breakthrough into the WBA 1st team. Hopefully there are more to follow in the next year or two

Does anyone know where Jack Pelter is playing at the moment? A year ago he was trying to impress Roy Keane while trialling for Sunderland and havn't heard of him since he was released.

Jack Pelter back trialling with Bradford City. Was a 71st minute substitute in their 2-0 win over York City.
From Bradford Argus:
"Of course, there are still plenty of boxes to be ticked. The 19 players given a run-out in the new black away strip included seven trialists.
CITY: Mannus, Ramsden (Pelter 71), Rehman, Williams (Bateson 63), L OBrien, Colbeck (Horne 71), Holdsworth (Dean 63), Novikov (Keehan 46), Brandon (J OBrien 46), M Boulding (Hanson 63), Evans (R Boulding 63).

Jordan Hadfield and Grant Smith werent there though they are still at the club but City unveiled two more new faces, defender Jack Pelter from New Zealand and Estonian midfielder Yevgeni Novikov."

I notice that Wood has been on for the last 30 mins in the last 2 WBA preseason games, went close to scoring one as well. Hopefully he will get more first team time this year and continue his progress

Good effort by the Otago lads. Nice to know that Jack Pelter is getting a trial. Also having Chris Wood more first team games are all good.

Definately good to see a few more kiwis out there.
When does Henderson, Keat and Boxall finish up at uni and try to go pro via the draft or trialling in Europe, must be pretty soon.
p.s (i assuming keat is still playing, i remember thinking he was pretty solid but i have not seen or heard of him in a while)

Are they going to europe/uk or to the US? It's hard to keep track of them. Since PSG removed his blog of kiwis in england a few years back I lose track of any prospectors.

I am working on bringing back a better version of the site. Unfortunately, work commitments have kind of dragged me away from it. I will of course keep you updated.
For now, the current list of Kiwi's in England I have is:
* Michael Built - Northampton Town (Yth team) - League Two
* Tinoi Christie - Farnborough North End - Sydenham's Wessex League
* Rory Fallon - Plymouth Argyle - Championship
* Cameron Lindsay - Blackburn Rovers (Yth team) - Premiership
* Luke Naughton - Godalming Town - Ryman One South
* Ryan Nelsen - Blackburn Rovers - Premiership
* Lee Norfolk - Stanway Rovers (Player/Asst Mgr) - Ridgeon's East Premier
* Jack Pelter - Bradford City (trial) - League Two
* Adrian Webster - Blyth Spartans - Conference North
* Mark Withers - Northampton Town (Yth team) - League Two
* Chris Wood - West Bromwich Albion - Championship

Adding to the list
North of the Border
* Andrew Milne - Glasgow Rangers (Yth team)
* Jamie Doris - Hibernian (Yth team) --- From Nelson and a member of the NZ u17 team just
signed
Wales
* Sam Heenan 18 - Rhyl (WelshPremier League)
England
* Tommy Smith - Ipswich Town - Championship

The reason I haven't included Tommy Smith in the list is that he's currently a youth international for England. If he ends up changing allegiances (not likely from what I've heard from people who know his family) then I'll whack him onto the list.
As for Sam Heenan, I read somewhere that he's actually from Papua New Guinea and, whilst he has dual citizenship, hasn't actually pledged his loyalty to one or the other yet?

Also, over the Irish Sea, I think Darren Young (ex-Waitakere and Barnsley) who has been playing in the Irish Premier League in the Republic for several years now, has left Athlone FC for Limerick (reported as training there recently).
Mark Withers (ex- Mount Albert Grammar) is going great guns at Northampton Town. After scoring twice in the youth team's win in the County Youth Cup Final in May, he scored for the Senior team in a pre-season friendly this week.

Sounds like it was a good goal from Wood, then he backed up with the last 20 mins for the firsts and had a header on target
Cant wait to see if he gets regular time in the season.

The Conference North season also started on Saturday. Blyth Spartans got a very creditable 1-1 draw at title favourites, AFC Telford. Just over 1,800 in attendance and Adrian Webster played the full 90 minutes.

How's this guy Doris getting on at Hibs?
We have a fairly new (2 years old) training facility there now, dedicated to Hibs only. Apparently it's state of the art and as good as anything in the EPL too, be interesting to find out if this helped Doris make up his mind where to go?
