A-League Team of the week, Round 3...

Interestingly enough I spot 4 former NZ-team players in the lineup... ok, we all know about Smeltzy,
... but Caravella, Rees, & Fitzsimmons, were all rather inglorious for NZ based teams. Fitzsimmons in particularly looked incredibly average and it's stunning to see him performing well for GCU. Even Rees, who looked like a decidedly average journeyman over here, seems to have a new lease of life.

Henrique, Brisbane Roar

Another frustrating result for the Roar, who haven't managed to gel for the full ninety minutes yet this season. Not for want of trying from Henrique however, who's clever run and cross set up Sergio van Dijk's opening goal.

Deserved???

I love the LOLs of the Australian paragons of the beautiful game cheering on Leijer for a long ball.

We don't know it here but even thinly veiled in match commentaries there are constant shiots being fired by FOX at SBS and then back by SBS in the shows and colums they write.  Mariners vs Sydney was a classic example with a discussion at one point about sydney's style under the new management that was a blatant two fingers at Craig Foster.

Pity that they missed Bertos this week, I reckon he could have taken Henriques spot, although he was a shining light in that roar team.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Rees was good enough for us IMO, was surprised we let him go considering how much we had to rebuild the defence after season 1.
You know we belong together...
