If this is confirmed, and they take ANY home games away from Wellington again, that's the last of my season membership.

Stop trying to play tricks with words Tony P, you just said you're trying to turn the Wellington Phoenix into the New Zealand Phoenix.

The Ring of Dirt debacle in Palmy this year showed how badly things can turn around when you ruin an unbeaten streak at home.

The Phoenix could have had the record for longest unbeaten home streak. They could do the exact same next year, and Tony P is talking about voluntarily risking f**king that opportunity up.

This is a very slippery slope, if anything, will cause the Phoenix to lose more season members than they did this season.

Spot on.

Firstly as the article suggests the team should always be the WELLINGTON Phoenix.

Also Auckland does not deserve a game by right, if they get one it should be because it is of benefit to the Wellington Phoenix FC.

However beyond that, and not being in Wellington, my thoughts are a bit different...

Away home games should only be a couple a year max. Chch was excellent, Palmy looked sh*t. Surely there are enough football fans in Auckland that an annual event would also get a good crowd for the novelty factor?

I am sure the club absolutely appreciates you lot who turn up for every game and chant your lungs out. You certainly get my respect. However the hard fact of the matter is that there are less of you than break even point, and should Terry therefore always be a charity? He is giving Wellington so much by backing the team in the first place, so assuming it is only a couple of games a year, and the team is still Wellington, can you really be so against the opportunity to make the whole thing a bit more viable by taking advantage of a couple of novelty crowds per year?

The comments about wanting to see every game and being unhappy otherwise are also valid, perhaps the club could do something like put on a couple of buses (a beer bus and a dry bus perhaps).

I'm not being selfish by saying I want to get the home games my season membership entitles me to.
Home games meaning at home, at the Ring of Fire.

Look at how badly Palmerston North turned out. You can't trumpet one game in Christchurch as the sudden savour for the Phoenix.

You can't guess that people in other centres will turn up in anything like the same numbers that Christchurch managed.

That's ludicrous business sense, and even more ludicrous when the players and the fans themselves have been so obviously out in support of playing their home game at the Ring of Fire.

For some of us who actually have been to the games since the club started up, this is moving away from what the club promised to start with.
