i wasn't aware he was on here. not that that's a problem. i haven't dropped anything. people call various players on here shit from time to time. are they then asked to call the player back or take their call?

pretty irrelavant really, you called out a commentator saying his commentary is shit, man up and justify the comment. You're only back tracking on it with the whole mountain/mole hill thing cos you got called to explain.

i hardly need to man up and I'm certainly not back-tracking. i don't feel like i need to expand on my comment and i said that. my choice. it's a forum. beat it and stop being a sycophant

It's a forum where you can't just have a go at a person, you have to back up your criticism with justification. Like I've said before, you were right on the edge of breaking the rules. Do it again and you will have a warning. Have a nice day :)

I always enjoy reading the Aussies complain about Dewhurst and Fred, and I always remind them that they are NZ commentators, hired by a NZ broadcasting company, being broadcasted out to NZ, so of course they are going to be a bit biased towards the NZ team. But yeah, I would much prefer to listen to Piney and Chotey while watching the games rather than Dewhurst and Fred.

Let's be honest Dewhurst is wallpaper and Fed is a great guy but hardly the most cutting edge comments guy. There just doesn't seem to be anyone else - christ can you imagine Sky putting McIvor on it?

Yes there is, GGW!

Last year I contacted a senior producer at SKY and asked some questions about Andrew and his commentary - the direct response I was given was "we don't really get any negative feedback at all about Dewey" (their nickname for him, not mine)... that would suggest they see no need to change the current regime at all...

I would gladly start a petition saying Dewhurst out GGW in if I knew it would be effective and reach the right people..

Pretty sure I read on the Heart forum that the Heart supporters were all like "who the fuck are these muppets??"

Meh. They seem to feel the need to whine at us about them when our dislike i as big as theirs. They also don't seem to get that foisting Harper and Slater on us is evening the ledger.

to be fair News, the commentary during the Heart match was a new, dire low... they may sound like whingers on that forum, and some of the Aussie commentary staff may not be perfect, but in all honesty, with that particular match broadcast, they had every reason to complain...

Fortunately, apart from watching replays, I do not have to listen to those muppets very often

I vented on Twitter about Harnwell being openly biased towards Perth on Sunday, and many Aussies came back to me and said "what gives you the right to complain when your commentators are just as bad?". It quite amusing see them all squirm and try to respond when I told them that I dislike Dewhurt and de Jong commentating just as much.
