10,000 people will go to a football match in this town tomorrow, yet it hasnt got a single mention in today's Dom Post - in either the main paper or the sports supplement as far as i can find (and i am not counting the whats on the box column in sidelines). Please set me straight if I'm wrong.
While the Dom Post's overall coverage of the Phoenix has been
great, that is pretty disappointing given it's the first home game
in a month.
I'll have to reserve final judgement until I see tomorrow
morning's newspaper. Expecting big things.

i haven't seen the dom yet, but that is a very poor effort - true they might be aiming to give it a bit of a splash on saturday, surely they can't be planning to ignore the game ?
forget contempt of court, this is contempt for football!

Its no longer a problem.

The Dom have been good to the Phoenix and us in recent times, but
today's lack of any story is very disappointing.
We should all drop a note to the editor and make the
point.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Maybe they've forgotten about us? It has been a very long 3 weeks
without live footy at the Ring o Fire.

Much better effort today - full page of articles on Phoenix, TW and
All Whites.
Jamie Douglas' column is also on the Phoenix - and v
good. He is prob right that as far the Phoenix football season and
football aspirations for 07/08 go, today is v important.
As far as the club's aspirations long-term and the future of
the Phoenix franchise, the seasont is already a success - and it
would take an astronically poor finish to the season to change
that.

yep, a good effort,
Imo, it would have been better for the attendance to have had the coverage spread acros both days, but that might not rank as high on the dom's agenda as it does on mine
nice to see a 'football page' - interesting to see to the two rugby coaching adds on that page
Jamie D's column, was worth a read - he certainly seems to enjoy the process of writing; but for me the thing with his columns is that I'm left feeling anxious that his love of extending a metaphor as close as possible to its breaking point means that, sooner or later, he'll accidentally write something about the Nix which is completely unjust - all for the sake of the 'wit' and 'expressiveness' he strives for, and frequently achieves.
nice elbow into the Auckland media though
