Yes, because you're wrong.
That's the best thing about opinions, they can never be wrong no matter how much you disagree with them.

The short lived Tia Maria Tim Tams were the best.

Don't think they ever came here.

They were removed from the Aussie market after wowser groups objected strongly to alcohol flavoured biscuits being marketed to fat kids. They may have had a fair point, but they were bloody delicious.

If there's anything more Aussie than biscuits with booze in them, I'll go hee. Nanny state etc.

Not the Grant Brebner where the flavour is disguised visually so you can have a quick bet on which one it is ?

Oh, forgot about caramel, definitely caramel.

@MM, guessed it from your writing style, but did see the comment.

There's a Robbie Kruse flavour that is rather tasty, but causes inexplicable fits of rage.

Indeed it does. I think it was based on the Leilei G** flavour.

Moving on, the Ljubo flavour was trialled a little bit in Melbourne, but Melburnians didn't like the taste of gay pirates knickers.

Way to ruin a good conspiracy....

Blog fail.

Aussies' points don't get rounded down notorganic. The reason for having only 2 spots instead of 3 is because the rules state you can't have more than 1/3 of your teams in the ACL. As these assessment took place in October-ish 2008 the A-league only had 8 teams then. So a third of 8 is 2.7. And as the rules state this figure gets rounded down (to 2).

Further as the assessment are only done every 2 years, I assume the allocation of ACL places are set for the forthcoming 2 years. Hence why this year, even though there are 10 teams, there are only 2 places available. So when the next assessment in done in November 2010, the A-league should get (all other things being equal) three spots as they will now have 10 teams. Thus qualifying for 3.3 places (rounded down to 3).

I'm not sure why you haven't explained why the Australian points shifted from 306 to 343 within 12 months?

No, seriously, all the FFA would have to do is find seven identical multimillionaires - each more identical than the last - to turn the NZFC teams into Phoenix clones. And make sure that each of those teams got a revenue stream equal to that of an A-League team. I can't see why that would be so difficult.

Hey,we may even find a spot in this league for you when the A league goes under. But then Oceania may not be too happy about it,may cost us our precious OCL spots.

I'm not convinced it has. The only place I can find 434 is in your blog and in wikipedia (for which the link for the source says the figure is 306).

A-League teams should perform better in the ACL. That would be a good argument for more places.

Performance in the ACL has nothing to do with how ACL slots are calculated.
if A-League teams consistently featured in semi finals and finals it would put pressure on the AFC to change things, whatever the "criteria"are

Plus, youre the one here arguing that its what the AFC doesnt actually say that is in fact what's most important

I notice that they didn't say that New Zealand players should count as Asian for the ACL, so I'm now certain that New Zealanders now count as Asians.

Does it?

The article refers to the official report - I've said that there are constant adjustments being made behind the scenes and I still haven't seen anything to contradict that.

When I do, I'll put my hand up and say so. Until then, go shag another sheep .
