Go about 01:30 into this clip and you'll see evidence of that....

Despite the title of the clip (Probably a City fan) and the crap music, the actual clips are interesting to see.

ps: Update, I read back about four pages of comments on this clip. I know man U fans on here get dfensive about their team but the comment leavers on this youtube clip come across as a bunch of complete idiots. Thank God the Man U fans on here give a more balanced look at things.

If it was from a city fan it would have had Oasis as the backing music

Did you hear that someone broke into the Man City trophy cabinet? They stole the carpet

It's alright for some numpty in the tv studio with video replay to say the Spurs goal is definite, but for them to then say 'Where was the lino'? is ridiculous, seeing as the ball was pumped from halfway, the Man U defence were at the half way line - do they expect the AR to cover 50m in 2.5 secs!

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

what a ridiculous statement, i know i'm probably just playing into what lonegunmen was saying, but blaming man united for a new level of referee abuse is absurd.. seriously, every big team does this now, u can't blame manchester united

fair enough Muso, to you my statement will appear ridiculous (and I must ask an old mate who's a Man u fan if he agrees even a little bit with what I've said)  and good on you for criticising my statement rather than getting into abuse

I know i post on the liverpool board and i want them to do well, but I don't really dislike Man U - i was utterly pumped when I watched you beat Bayern to win the champs league (not at the game, but my mate was - lucky bastard) and i want you to beat chelsea - so i don't think i'm having a dig just out of spite

My memory of the little 90's football i saw (didn't have sky then) was that Man u did seem to have a habit of running up to the ref in a group of 3 -5 players and shouting in his face when a big decision went against them - i genuinely believe that they were the first team to do this consistently - to the extent that it appeared like a 'set move'

if anyone can present some facts or opinions based on their memory, that identifies another team as starting this practice, or that the practice started from a number of teams on the same weekend - then I'll "withdraw and apologise"

Referee abuse is just not on.  Referees put up with it at work and then to go and do something good for the game, and then to be abused like they are is just not on.  If it weren't for referees these days, football games around the world would not be able to be played

I reffed a women's game on Sunday and on one of the club's website match reports I was awarded MOM for the opposition!

I wonder why I bother sometimes.....

Pretty sure you're right Tigers - Man U were certainly one of the first in the EPL to rush the ref in a group - sadly every other team has now picked up on this ploy to bully the ref into changing his mind.

refs are getting so soft these days you get booked for laughing or smiling at them from what I've seen this year locally

Player on weekend in my game got booked for moving corner flag.

Three for me, and two for them.

When was the flag removed? During a goal celebration? Or in order to better play the corner kick?

Said player moved the corner flag without removing it from the ground altogether, so to better his chances of taken the corner kick properly. Ref then blew his whistle, came over to said player and brought out the yellow.

Three for me, and two for them.

I'm pretty sure that's correct, you not allowed to move.relocated the corner flag for any reason.

I would have thought, in the interests of common sense, said referee should just have told the player to replace the corner flag and got on with the game.

Strangely enough, I always felt that my IQ jumped considerably when I stopped playing and took up refereeing!
