England international Paul Ifill? This was said in the Waikato Times version yesterday. Looks to be changed.

And Troy Hearfield?

He and Romanos prob shared a line.

"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

It will be interesting to read what they think during and after the games at the Hutt Rec. If only these guys got to actually know what goes on in the stands, at the training groundsand on the field. You know, a bit of investigative journalism that isn't copy and pasted via the internet.

actual journalism requires work and talent LG, something Romanos and co have given up on years ago. Now they rely on their reputations to allow them to write opinion pieces as editors of the local rag.

Why let an ego get in the way of a good story? Shades of Elliott Carver amongst the journos in this country at the moment.

Great paper!  ;-)

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

"this will be the FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY. Gates will open at noon for all three Phoenix fixtures in the Hutt.

There will be a family friendly area with activities including bouncy castles, face painters and tug-of-war."

ROFL, LOL and LOL again!

So this douche bag appeared in my feed today. I guess when you only have 19 friends Facebook is going to do its best to promote you to others. Christ the Saviour sums this guy up pretty well ...

Romanos in ill-informed opinion piece shocker.

To be fair it mostly reads like a fairly reasonable positive piece with that big sports story thing of highs and lows and highs again...

That's a nice little pre-story from a community paper. What is the issue people have with it?

Wow guys, what a massive knee jerk reaction to 1 or 2 lines in a reasoned and serious commentary. No wonder rugby heads and the like delight in taking pot shots at the game, they can be guaranteed there will always be a bunch of us squawking like they have murdered our first born. I would have thought more productive time would be spend on debating why our game has got to a point where referees are vilified and abused by players at EVERY level of the game. Now that concerns me more than whether or not someone makes a sweeping statement that every match involves cheating, diving etc - even an imbecile knows that is a generalisation. I also believe that diving and other continental aspects that have crept into the game are not a good look - does that make me out to be an enemy of the game?

so we should only ever discuss topics that you believe warrant our discussion?

Mods, Close every thread down unless Napier Phoenix approves of it!!!

Edit: also those comments were nearly 3 years ago, I think we've all moved on.
