Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

"I'd prefer another Australian team (in the A-League) because I'm an Australian," a defiant Culina told NZPA.

"I never said I didn't want the Phoenix in the competition, I think they have been terrific for the A-League. They've played some great football and they've got great players and a great setup. But I'm an Australian and I'll always back Australian clubs."

That song is used the world over, I think a few countries pinched it from the English!

I've heard that song a few times when you boys sing it at your home games and get a laugh from it. We're not that bad. The cricket team OK, bag them, but the soccer boys are a bit more 'international' than them.

Because he's a tiresome dullard, and a smug patronising git.

Believe it or not he's much better on here than some Aus forums.

At least the Wello boys have got some genuine supporters attached to the club, unlike your g@y fair-weathered bunch of f@gs up in Sydney mate.

Go and sell your butt on Oxford Street and leave the lest of us to talk about the game.

Tegal - Don't think I ruined the thread by what I said.

Baiter - I'll take the "smug patronising git" comment as a badge of honour.

But all jokes aside, where was the thread ruined? Tegs, PM if need be.

Ds, I've hidden that.  If you want re-type it feel free.

That's a warning.  No need for personal abuse.  You'll notice KP manages to deal with everyone without dragging Sydney vs Melbourne crap on here and we're keeping it that way.

If you want to partake in that sh*t, you can go back to your paddling pools on the Tard Board, TWG or 442.

How's my driving? - Whine here

wtf??? how can he say Ifill doesn't get back enough, he's always back, in fact I recall acouple of times last night when it was ifill breaking the play up while manny and hearfield tracked back......all our strikers get back at some point during the game. But to be fair its not their job we have four defenders and two defensive mids, we don't/shouldn't need the extra help.

It is the nature of the game these days, and there are times when opp. defenders push on and so they then have an extra man.

Sore loser award: Branko Culina did nothing to endear himself to the New Zealand fans in the week leading up to the match, and continued his jibes in the press conference afterwards. "None" was his deadpan response when asked what chance he gave the Phoenix of winning their major semi-final next week. "On the scoreboard" was the slightly smarmy answer when asked where the Phoenix had been better. Finally he was asked to clarify a previous statement about not wanting the New Zealand side to be in the A-League. Given the chance to clear things up, he just confused it more. "No I didn't say that. I'm an Australian, so of course I want to have an Australian team in the league."

I think Mr Culina should take a leaf out of our book. When we applauded the Jets off the park it the end, it was pure class. Nice to see the Jets players returning the gesture as well.

Culina = Cock. End of.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

that 'none' quote is quite true.  He continued afterwards to say soemthing like 'but in all seriousness, of course they have a chance etc..."

When will those "anti-us" Aussies realise that we are not taking the place of an Aussie team.
There is nothing stopping the FFA adding another team, as they have with Melbourne Heart and Sydney Rovers.

We are additional to Aussie teams, not in place of them.

Branko's logic implies that the league shouldn't even have import players, as they take the place of Aussies. I don't see him leaving Song or Bridges or Abbas out of his squad though!

perhaps we or the FFA should suggest that his croatian birth negates him from coaching an ausie side, or even working in australia - as he is taking the job an aussie could do.
