Did someone not tell the Blues that your away kit is supposed to be different to your home kit??
Maybe its a bit of marketing genius in that they effectively have 2 replica home shirts to sell and they won't clash with any teams away from home.
I'm guessing they play the Highlanders and Western Force at home so those teams will have to wear their away shirt.

Along with the Tahs.
Auckland getting them all at home you reckon? Has the drawn been made yet?

it's total crap. It's just a cynical marketing ploy to sell more jerseys and make more money.

Don't mean to be nit picky (well ok...maybe a little) but neither Otago or Auckland play in the super 14

Wonder if they'll still have the "Alternate" white strip for when Home/Away Uniforms clash. Probably just make it work I guess. So Highlanders always wear away strip against Blues and Highlanders wear there Home Uniform in CHCH.

On the Jerseys themselves....The Crusaders one is awful, especially the away design. Why can't we go back to the good old Red and Black Hoops?

IIRC, Hurricanes will be playing away in Durban against a Shaawks. They'll wear yellow to avoid the clash.
I've yet to see any of the other jerseys - saw the Hurricanes ones ages ago and heard the Blues one was to be Northland blue, but other than that nada.
(Ed- just saw them, completely agree with the previous comments re: Auckland. LAME!)

I'm sure I heard somewhere that the teams would be made to wear their away kits at all away games even if they didn't clash. Much like the A League, hence my comment on why the Blues must be playing all the other blue teams at home.
Remember, the Super 14 designs are changed every year and some people complain about EPL teams trying to take advantage by always changing their shirts

IIRC, it's every two years. Believe it's the same for the EPL (and A-League?)
As for the away clash - here's my source

[quote]For the Hurricanes that means [the grey jersey] will feature in their away games against the Reds, Chiefs, Crusaders, Lions and Force next year, but not the match in Durban as it clashes with the Sharks' jersey.

i laugh at the blues having hobbs at their shirt model but hes from wellington even though he plays for them, why not use their own "talent"

Agreed how stupid is that, it might take the rugby heads awhile to work out how this home and away strip idea works

Careful - that's David Smith in the Hurricanes home shirt, hardly a Wellington "talent".

Okay, here's how it works.
(Otago) will play in their (blue) strip for every home game. They will play in their (red) strip for every away game, EXCEPT against opponents who have (red) home strips.
Substitute teams and colours where necessary. Book it, done.

David Smith has transferred to the Lions, so while he most recently played for the Auks, he can be classified as a "Wellington talent" seeing as he's now contracted as a Lion.
That is just a technicality though

Just noticed the sword on the front of the Crusaders jerseys. Anyone else think it looks naf?
Oh, and BTW, the spin doctors are saying that even tho' it looks grey, the Crusaders away jersey is actually platinum!
What a load of bollocks!
