even though I'm a bit ambivalent about the result (feel a bit sorry for some good mates who will be gutted)

I'd still prefer the 3 weeks of moaning to the weeks of hype and bullsh*t if we had won the fake world cup

oh i know, what kind of a NZer am I? but they are chokers. and people can abuse me all they like but when you hype something up as a done deal, it's always amusing to me when it doesn't happen.

i do feel sorry for rugby supporters, but i won't pretend i'm part of the national mourning. No disrespect intended

..at least I can wind my workmates up by pointing out that Scotland stayed in the RWC longer than the ABs.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

sorry guys, but there was just so much hype and build-up about the whole AB deal that I was watching the match just out of a sense of duty. The game only came alive for me when the French scored and now there's a sort of feeling of come-uppance about the result.

Apologies and sympathies to any AB fans

I am gutted. Absolutely 100% gutted. This is the worst sporting loss I have ever witnessed. What a sh*t weekend for NZ sport.

I don't give a crap if you don't like rugby. If you're a New Zealander you should support teams that represent you.

p.s. f**k LUKE MCALISTER AND f**k THE STUPID REF/LINESMAN WHO MISSED THE BLATENT FORWARD PASS. etc.

I agree Cos, it's not my game and I do think this result has the potential (over the next few months/years for better outcomes for football in NZ than an All Black win would have done - that's my motivation

Yes. You should f**king support them you stupid c**t. They are a NZ side and I don't give a sh*t whether they are the NZ Lawn Bowls team or the NZ Badminton Team all New Zealanders should get behind their sporting representatives. You aren't 'raging against the system' or being 'different' by not supporting the All Blacks.

What? Worse than 2003? Or 1999? Or 1995? Deal with it, the ABs blew it AGAIN.

Don't get me wrong, I'd have been delighted to see the ABs win the thing but now we'll have to put up with suicidal, manically depressed Kiwi rugby fans moping about bleating and whining for the next 6 months. I know it's no consolation but my mob will no doubt crash out tomorrow morning.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

You have to care first. You obviously do. That doesn't mean anyone else has to.

I'm English, but I took no delight in the 2003 RWC because it's irrelevant to me  - in the same way that I feel no upset if the English rugby team lose. If the English football team lose, then I exhibit the same degree of upset that you are now.

Yeah, and thats fair enough. I still think people should 'want' them to win, even though they don't care. Some people seem to want the All Blacks to lose because they don't like rugby. e.g. I completely hate the Americas Cup but I still wanted us to win.

The America's cup is a funny one though, isn't it? Do you support the Emirates NZ team or the team with the NZers competing in it? Something like that - I don't follow that "sport"* either and hadn't even heard of it until I came to NZ.

*I'm inclined to agree with Billy Connolly's assessment of the America's Cup as a sport.

Thing is, want and care tend to go together. Take away the care aspect and the want follows.

The blame game has already startted - the global conspiracy to clash to with ABs strip for one.

I just find it quite ironic in a week that Rugby journalists both sides of the ditch have been ripping the piss out of northern hemisphere rugby - that the joint favourites are knocked out at the QFs by England and France.

To be fair I think there was a bit more respect from the NZ camp towards the French than there was from AUssies to the English ('Old carthorses with a one trick pony' - that one trick pony seems to have done the trick though!).

Not that I usually take a lot of pleasure out of an English win, but I think the French and English wins have brought a bit of credibility back to NH rugby - hopefully Scotland can top it off and get past the Argies tomorrow and get past the QFs for the first time since 91

Thank you.

Quite in shock really, was prepared to face us falling at say the final hurdle against South Africa or Aussie but certainly not in the Quarter Finals against France.

Still, very interested in listening to the talkback tomorrow, sh*te thing is i have school...

Three for me, and two for them.
