the band that will play in Wellington is:
Angus Young -lead guitar - no explanation needed.
Malcolm Young rhythm guitar - as above. (Both Youngs were founding members in '73)
Phil Rudd - drums - been there since '74 although took a few years break in the 80's. (lives in tauranga)
Cliff Williams - bassist - since 1977
Brian Johnson - lead vocals - since Bon Scott died in 1980.
So the band that was playing from as early as 1980 will be the exact one that come here.

If they want an elderly Geordie screamer they should have signed Shearer.

Oh brilliant, chance for me to relive my yoof....AC/DC at Athletic Park I ended up with 5 stitches and a fractured cheekbone.....but rocked out the entire concert with blood streaming down my face and only went to St Johns once the music stopped....

Watching a Mob member pummel some snotty nosed skinny little kid's (no, not me) face into the barrier at the front of the stage when they came on and thinkin it was gettin a bit cosy... then moving back after a few songs and standing on the bleachers wiv some girls that had lots of cognac (yes - cognac) and wanted to share.... gotta luv the hippies!!! (flasks that is, not flowers).

how do you figure?
You think the band were unaware of Bon's smack/booze binge-o-rama? How about one of them saying "err, Bon, mate, how about easing up and making that 2nd bottle of Stone's Ginger Wine your last for the night?"
It's called looking out for your notoriously loose mates.

I think Bon should've been aware of his own 'smack/booze binge-o-rama' and looked out for his notoriously loose self.
Really, thats fairly ridiculous to blame his band mates for his death! that's like blaming a smoker's friends when the smoker dies of lung cancer.

bl to any of francernal's loose mates - you're on your own, fellas!

He has a point- when you say someones self destructive tendencies are everyone else's fault, you basically divulge them of blame and responsibility for their own actions. Fair enough, try and help them out, but when they don't want help, why live the rest of you life in guilt because some waster doesn't want to take control of their own actions/responsibility for their own decisions.
You cant live your own life if you have to be someone else's conscience full time.

None of that means you can't look out for your mates - take their keys away from them when they're sh*t faced, or make sure they're not passed out in a car in the middle of winter.

QFT.
You don't need to be someone's conscience, just help them out.
I like tautologies because I like them.

Band weren't with him the night that he died. so congratulations, you have just completely negated your whole argument. I totally agree with what you're saying in the quote above, but I thought you meant the band should've looked out for him long term as in trying to cure him of his rockstar ways.
The night he died, Bon went out drinking with a friend named Alistair Kinnear; he had nothing at all to do with the band. After getting drunk as f**k they decided to get in Alistairs car and go back to Alistairs to crash for the night. Bon passed out on the car ride home, Kinnear couldn't move him so left him to sleep there for the night, and Bon died of acute alcohol poisoning due to a bad liver. Some stories claim he choked on his vomit but the death certificate suggests otherwise. So, agreed Kinnear should've looked after his mate better, I've read Kinnears account of it and he did as best as he could considering the friend he drank the same amount as had enough to die of alcohol poisoning - but since we were talking about THE BAND - nothing they could've possibly done to stop the events of that night...they did consider breaking up but then decided to continue on with a new singer at Bons mothers advice.

Also they sold Janice and Jimi the smack that killed them. And eyewitnesses report seeing Malcolm Young parachuting from Lynard Skynard's plane, shortly before it crashed.

They killed him. Deal with it.
Yep, as surely as if he'd been on a Melbourne train platform with a couple of Victory fans and a knife. Deaded.

got an email from the nix this morning offering a deal to get ac/dc tickets earlier than the public sales.it is a decent deal for those who like to eat and drink before the concert but adds a large price for a ticket i think it was $ 299.00 all up.
