At the moment my training is wrecked by a hacking cough which means I have to slow every k to hack up some lung.

I don't reckon I could get there (a half) by Feb, not while I'm contemplating my 3-9-3.

Just smashed out 10k on exercycle and 4k run.  Just need to actually try a swim!

I could be keen for the 7k, would force me to get outside and get fit again.

I checked out the beginner's training plan for 1/2...I think if I start that from start of Dec (after November Run) then I could go okay...super ambitious but I will enter and then have a goal...

Broken biscuits.  Followed Sunday with a 5k treadmill Monday, then ran the Waterfront 5k Tuesday. Wednesday a game of indoor miles above my normal grade with no subs and a cycle home.

Today I can barely walk. Hopefully It's just excess and not an injury and I'll cycle to work tomorrow.  Unfortunately my road bike isn't back so it'll be mountain bike commute.

Will enter 7k this weekend.

this year we are planning for 13,000 over both distances- broken down that will be (roughly) 11,000 for the 7k and 2,000 for the Half- to give you some idea the biggest ever field for the Fun run was last year with 10,200- this sold out with a week to go, the half marathin sold out with about tow days to go.

We are expecting, due to the huge interest and early registrations, to sell out again. When is big question; probably within a week of the event I would say.

Ill be checking this forum sporadically during the week so if anyone has a burnign issue and wants to get hold of us please email roundthebays [@] sportwellington.org.nz

cheers

I'm gonna hit up the half. I feel like I am ageing four days to every one at the moment so this could be hard yards

Let me get this straight - register and you get to use Les Mills for FREE until the event? Did I read that right??

I'm from Dunedin but I just wanted to say that Round the Bays 2007 when visiting Wellington and sitting having lunch in Midland Park. All of a sudden John McBeth and Keith Quinn came along with a BBQ and I was blown away by the fact that for $15 I would get free public transport to and from the event, have a shoelace tie to record my time, and have entertainment provided at the finish line (along with the promise of an ice cream which never arrived - still a sore point to this day!).

The weather was incredible, the day was well organised and enjoyed by all, and I will always have fond memories of this special event. Good to hear that the event is as well organised and exciting as ever. Very sorry I won't be up in Wellington during this time or else I would definitely be joining you. All the best!

Thanks Ahmad- Sport Wellington is responsible for organising this event and has been since 1999 (sorry about your ice cream!)
Yes, free gym work outs for those who enter, plenty of offers and freebies in race pack and at the finish line-we think the value for money is very good, as do the 12-13000 people who attend year in/year out!

Just passed the 4,000 registrations mark-previous pre Xmas record was 2,000 last year-means the event will likely sell out around early Feb, despite the increase in capacity.

We now have over 5,000 people registered- (5,100 to be precise). At the equivalent '6 weeks to go' mark last year we were around 2,500.

Updates about entertainment and other promotions will begin next week.

Cheers

I checked your registration, and you got a free singlet, as you were in the first 1000 Half marathon entrants
