Saturday 25th September - 2010 AFL Grand Final - Collingwood vs. St Kilda
19 Sep 20:45 · edited 09 Sep 05:56

Why does it have to be Collingwood that we play. The enemy. Going to be huge, surely the pies have to be the favourites.

Either Leigh Montagna (St Kilda) or Brett Kirk (Sydney) for Brownlow... You heard it here first folks!!!

Ehhh. Hated Collingwood when I lived in Brisbane. But now have no allegiances. Why should I support the Pies?

Umm...what's so good about Collingwood? Might have to support them when I watch the final- though they used to be the enemy in 2004 when I lived in Brissie.

and oh. your username= Collingwood. I used to think this was a joke about Hard News. Or some such.

What a farken Joke!

Brett Kirk was far better than the solitary point that he was awarded by the Umpires!!!

Farken Sydney haters!!!

When I first started watching AFL it was Geelong that was the enemy to me. Then, once I got talking to my half-brother I told him I hated all Victorian teams just to annoy him because he's moved back to Melbourne.

As a result I randomly follow the Sydney Swans, since I don't really have any reason to like any of the teams in the league. Kind of silly, but I do enjoy watching the sport.

Good article on Fox SPorts saying that Saints, Geelong, Bulldogs and the pies have been the stand out teams for the past few years. I think I have decided not to watch, to freaking nervous. Have my Saints guernsey undies and socks on this week...that's right, I haven't changed them

I would just like to say that I've just found out Richmond didn't finish dead last.. (only 4 weeks after the regular season finished).

I feel the same way about Man United. Rich, successful, well supported. Tall poppy syndrome.

23 Sep 00:49 · edited 09 Sep 05:56
lol they've been a teeny bit more successful than us tbh

Haha, didn't even think about it that way.

One of my friends, from Perth, said before the game "I can't wait for this to be over so I don't have to hear about it anymore."

Well, bad luck for him, we have the first Grand Final replay since 1977.

Do you have to buy tickets again to the next game?

I can't say for sure, but I'd imagine so.

Though, I recall that for the 1993 FA Cup final, which ended in a draw and needed a replay (after which the FA abolished final replays), you got a 50% discount on a ticket to the replay if you presented your initial match ticket.

I'd imagine the AFL might do the same thing, but you never know.

They'd rake in a good amount of extra money from this.

It's the kind of thing Pakistani bookies would thrive on.
25 Sep 08:39 · edited 09 Sep 05:56
Nah the tickets will all go for re-sale. A lot of people would have travelled from interstate for the game (flights to Melbourne for this weekend are ridiculously expensive...the flights are already crazy for next weekend).

Clashes with the NRL grand final too, I don't think the FFA is the only one who's pissed about it.
