Radio this morning said that the Doom Post will have a pull out, helping explain the game & rules, tomorrow. You might have to nick a copy from the break room.

I will be there, with 6 or 7 others, again for the novelty factor, never seen a game live before, watched a couple on TV, and looking forward to it.

Saw 20k mentioned, with 5k Aussies coming over. Hopefully we can sell the rest during the week.

These are also the numbers I caught over the weekend. Would be good to sellout, hoping for good weather as that might help with a walk-up crowd. Though 20,000 would make it the biggest sports event attendance (bar sevens) at Stadium this year.

You said sports attendance, you didn't really need to add "(bar sevens)"

Oh I wasn't going to, but figured some smart-arse would mention the Sevens. With you, they aren't there to watch the sport.

If its a bit windy on Thursday, we may see a few behinds. Aussies not being used to a little wind and all that.

They probably were. What time did you take the photo? It took us quite a big part of the day to get them all straight.

Not my photo. A Victory/AFL fan I follow tweeted it. No clue where he got it from.

just saw the Sydney team coming out of their hotel and on to the bus to go to a training or something.

I know it is not a very exiciting post, but neither is AFL.

Just heard from a mate of mine who is a saints fan and he reckons there are heaps of them coming from all over Aussie . Apparently saints have made a big effort to get their fans here.So hopefully it should be a good atmosphere as there will probably be a heap of Sydney fans as well.

Will probably be a bit more exciting than some of our efforts this season Frankie.

Can see all the Aussies being well impressed with the surcharge because of the public holiday for their booze.

Mate reckons they have organised a pub in town and requested bulk amounts of Bundy to be on hand.LOL

Even given that it will still probably be better than a rugby game.

Seen a few lost looking Aussies around town this morning.

This includes a Collingwood fan.

The prosecution rests.

I find it amazing that 20000 Wellingtonians will turn up for foreign game when they will not support a local football team.

It is a fucking disgrace.

So far it is only 15k Kiwis, probably from around NZ rather than all from Wellington. And its like 20k people showing up to support a team from another city, isn't it?

1 off games always attract bigger crowds for the novelty factor, and they actually put effort into marketing their games.

Huge novelty factor. Like when the Phoenix go to Auckland etc, if we go every year the novelty factor wears off for some. But that first time we went we got 20k. Same thing here, first game of AFL here that I can think of and possibly ever. I'm going purely for the novelty factor and to experience something new. Nothing disgraceful about that is there?
