I can't find my original thread so I'll just start a new one.

Our baby is now 6 days overdue.

We believe that baby is waiting for us to be in the middle of watching the match on Sunday, as it is used to all the "conversation" that occurs at the ROF and feels at home there.

I suggested to the pretty one of our union that if this did occur we should name the child, regardless of gender, Westpac.

She punched me in the shoulder and I said "Ow".

Or baby will start to arrive just before the game - thus making our $80 (thanks FFA) ticket useless.

i secretly agree, but she is very cautious of this. Wants it as natural as possible...

thanks sb, i hope so too!

I've been told the same thing prof (although I was told 14 days), but our midwife and my fiancee are fighting this for some bizzare reason. As long as baby and mother are healthy, i'm fine about it though.

Good luck with everything!

One thing I don't get is people who insist on having home births. What is that all about?

Hospitals can be scary places for someone who isn't actually sick. But hell, if I were a woman, and having something like that happen to me, i'd be wanting all sorts of medical crap around me!

all the best mike, my first was more 14 days overdue - 17 iirc - - we sort of tricked the doctor
and he's now a wonderful adult

look after your partner and all will be good (well, that's my take on it)

Best of luck, Mike.

In my opinion, a half time birth is just what the ROF needs for a semi-semi-final!

Apparently the gas is good sh!t.

If you are close by offering moral support and within reach, you will aslo discover how strong a woman in labour is, as she grabs hold of you and throttles you at the same time as the wee bairn is making an appearance (real multi-tasking).

Congratulations in advance and all the best.

It must have happened with that kind of pressure of a penalty shoot out and I bet the baby is looking forward to the 7th of march.

Walking down the concourse afterwards I saw a guy with a wee one in a sling/pouch.  Dedication!

The gas is awesome, but they don't let the dad's have any, which is totally sh*thouse imo.

My Wife said the epidural was the best though.

She is trying to avoid all things. For some reason she wants to see if she can do it on her own - probably sees it as a trump card she can use on me later in life...

I've been told many things about gas. My mother was gassed for 3 out of 4 of us kids and Epi'd for the 4th. She liked all, but says that all the gas really did was encouraged her to focus on breathing deeply.

Anyway, baby didn't come last night which was a blessing. Got home, went to bed and this morning waters have broken. So we are  all on stand-by now.

Our oldest daughter was more than two weeks overdue. She decided to wait so she could be born on St. Andrews Day. Which was nice

Great news, Mike. Keep us informed.

We were one of the lucky few who's first child was born on the right day. Mrs used gas too, said it only helps when you breathe in, but the effect wares off straight away.

Good Luck Mike.

I'll say, they gave me gas when they were taking out the pins of the external fixator that was used on a shattered wrist (indoor footy)

I wanted to buy a canister, to get me through the dreary days at work

It takes a community to raise a child, and what better community is there than the drunkards in YF?

Baby girl was born this morning. 8lbs 12 oz. Natural birth, no pain relief. 30 hour labour. I'm tired. Going to bed.

Hello again

Mother and Daughter doing amazingly well. After what she has been through, I am amazed at how she is just wondering around - almost as if nothing had happened (expect for moaning once how she was a wee bit tired).

I, on the other hand, went home to sleep for 8 hours, then woke up, went back to the hospital, got kicked out, now back home and wanting more sleep!

Very proud of her for doing it for so long without pain relief. That is what she wanted. I question whether she would want to choose that route again though!
