Nothing unique about them at all compared to the sound of the bagpipes!

My school has a pipe band. It has it's good and bad times.

However, playing the same song every single year gets annoying. They never learnt anything new...

Maybe not...

But I'd rather be un-unique (is that even a word?),

Then sound like 1000 cats dying!

Actually, just one cat. And not dead.

Pick it up, turn it round and stick it under your arm. Bite the tail.yomcat2007-12-10 22:40:07

I can't even play the Triangle, but I can appreciate the bagpipes as the most vile sound anyone can make deliberately.

It's better than dancing around waving hankies with bells on your legs.

i think if you want to be in a pipeband, learn a drum (bass, tenor, side) as it is much more interesting for people who play it and for people watching. piping is repetition, you learn 9 notes then they are aranged into music, drumming is much more basic, theres 2 notes and they are arranged into scores (drumming music) there is a wider range of drumming scores i can say all this from experience as i am a drummer.

In Glasgow, my next door neighbour used to play the pipes. I love the sound of the pipes but must confess I wasn't too keen on them when the neighbour used to practice in the mornings when I'd been on the piss the night before!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
