good news, and good advice!
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
I'm not a fan of chanting at Cricket matches. I don't know how long the Barmy Army have been around for, (the 90's?), but until it's about a century, it ain't no Cricket tradition.
Cricket is about quietly getting sloshed as you watch it in beautiful surroundings, footie is about getting pissed before you go and making as much noise as possible
Personally i'd just rock up in a wife beater and stubbies and be done with.
Three for me, and two for them.

I'll be there making noise for the Kiwi boys, gotta support the team making all the play
Queenslander 3x a year.
I'm looking forward to applauding good play and even maybe meet a Stokie or two.
And watching the New Zealand cricket team dick the poms again.
(Though I'm now thinking I should 've booked Monday off as well)

You could always just say your house got burgled, surely the boss won't make you come in after that.

I only just saw that video haha from an American site nonethless (well, British, but I found the link on FARK.com).
As for the Phoenix sleeps tonight, I dunno, saying that our team are asleep doesn't sound very motivating to me...
Barmy Army are good, but not a touch on Yellow Fever!
Also saw quite a few Everton tops around the ground - I guess not ALL poms are bad...

You can add Blackburn to that list, and some ugly Redsh*te jerseys too (yellow? green? ....Liverpool FC fullstop?)

The hardest part about moving to NZ was getting used to union, it seemed so weird and different after growing up with league, mostly because of the whole playing the ball difference. So I just stuck to being decent at football and kicking everyones arse in cricket (and thus I get back on topic
)
