I'm not a fan of chanting at Cricket matches.  I don't know how long the Barmy Army have been around for, (the 90's?), but until it's about a century, it ain't no Cricket tradition.

IMHO.

Cricket is about quietly getting sloshed as you watch it in beautiful surroundings, footie is about getting pissed before you go and making as much noise as possible

Assumes Lord's accent

Yes, what. Chanting is just not cricket.

I have also heard it said that gentlemen are attending test matches attired in un-collared shirts. Tut! So, while RRs are entirely appropriate for the uncivilised winter game, they are certainly not cricket. I have it on good authority that collared beige shirts are available as appropriate attire for the test this week.

Personally i'd just rock up in a wife beater and stubbies and be done with.

Three for me, and two for them.

I suppose a light beige collared shirt would be appropiate.

rickis or not and i wont be in mine i really think we need to make some noise. was embarassing in hamilton, more noise for an english wicket or boundary than for anything good done by nz. so i think some noise is well called for. because there will be a lot of pommes there, u can see them around town already

I'm looking forward to applauding good play and even maybe meet a Stokie or two.

And watching the New Zealand cricket team dick the poms again.

(Though I'm now thinking I should 've booked Monday off as well)

The Beer spiller has become a legend. They keep on replaying it. They also commenting on the couple next to him and what they're up to.

I hear them singing "The Lion sleeps tonight", we could change that to "The Phoenix sleeps tonight"

I only just saw that video haha from an American site nonethless (well, British, but I found the link on FARK.com).

As for the Phoenix sleeps tonight, I dunno, saying that our team are asleep doesn't sound very motivating to me...

Barmy Army are good, but not a touch on Yellow Fever! Also saw quite a few Everton tops around the ground - I guess not ALL poms are bad...

Notice the lack of Man U gear there? Seen a few gooners and newcastle, bolton and I'm sure I saw a Preston jersey there too.

I see we're now onto Sky Sports 3. The rugby League is about to KO on Sky Sports 1, or is it union? I get so confused between the two watching them this season. It all seems the same.

Hey I just saw Andrew Symonds (Aussie cricketer) on the bank wearing a Liverpool jersey!!

You can add Blackburn to that list, and some ugly Redsh*te jerseys too (yellow? green? ....Liverpool FC fullstop?)

The hardest part about moving to NZ was getting used to union, it seemed so weird and different after growing up with league, mostly because of the whole playing the ball difference. So I just stuck to being decent at football and kicking everyones arse in cricket (and thus I get back on topic )
