I see it is coming and instead of sending you papers it is all online, but what if you are not "online"??

Do you get fined for not doing the census?

I note this morning some lady on the radio said people should stop putting "Jedi" down as their religion as it is a false return. So what, if you believe in the force good on you. If you don't believe in God, that is your choice too.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

if you don't want to (or  can't) fill it out on line you'll be able to request the paper forms

I've been a jedi for nearly two decades, I'm not going to ditch it now.

Yeah, who is she to say my Jedi religion is false and I shouldn’t put it in the census. That’s hate speech.

Allegedly

Pastafarian here

Jedi and Pastafaraian are at least based on much more up to date texts than Christianity is.

All religions are as valid as each other.

Well I'm glad I'm nothing like ISIS then.

I'm an atheist who has been seriously looking into joining the Church of Satan.

Have you seen their beliefs and texts?

Brilliant stuff...

"...we are the first above-ground organisation in history openly dedicated to the acceptance of Man's true nature - that of a carnal beast, living in a cosmos that is indifferent to our existence...He (Satan - who they don't actually believe in) represents pride, liberty, and individualism - qualities often defined as Evil by those who worship external deities, who feel there is a war between their minds and emotions."

"...sure beats doin' stuff."

Yeah, I knew a few satanists when I was in uni. It probably just has that name to be offensive as they were all good sorts. Basically you just believe in yourself.

'Where are you at the time of filling in this census?" I'm so tempted to put "On top of the wife" just to create a new statistic.

Especially in the USA, Satanists do a lot of good work in making sure there's separation of Religion and State.

For the Census I'm genuinely not sure whether to go with 'secular humanist' or 'atheist/non-religious.'

I wonder who the lady on the radio was saying not to put Jedi down. The last view from Statistics NZ I read was that it's fine to do so, and last year they updated their classifications for reporting so the reporting will include it, as well as Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
