Right then, anyone got some recommendations for comedians to go and see this Comedy Festival? I wish James Acaster was doing a show here, but he's only doing Auckland. Grr.

Saw Stephen K Amos a few years back at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and he was outstanding!

He's definitely on my list of 'Want to see'. Arj Barker was hilarious last year at the FOTC shows, would be cool to see him do a whole show also.

Joseph Moore

Regular, (when he's not living in Auckland), Yellow Fever Zone attendee and son of Turfmoore is doing his own comedy show in Wellington and Auckland so go and see him.

Look if he gets rich and famous he could buy the club Like Russell Crowe did with the Rabbitohs or Elton John with Watford.

If he don't well he'll still turn up to the Nix when he can and he's a very funny guy. God knows Kiwi comedy needs help so lets support one of it's rising stars.

Showing In:Auckland Wellington Dates:Tue 7 - Sat 11 May, 7pmVenues:The Fringe Bar, WellingtonTickets:Adults $18.00
Conc. $13.00
Groups $13.00* service fees may applyBookings:0800 TICKETEK (842 538)Show Duration:1 hour

Here is with one of his better haircuts, believe me some of them could have their own comedy routines...

For the younger forumites.  SPG refers to the "Special Patrol Group" - the ones that killed Blair Peach (allegedly).

Saw Danny Bhoy last night, phenomenal show. Probably the best comedy gig I've ever been to, highly recommended if anyone else gets the chance to go.

This is me. And I promise that if I make enough money from this Comedy Festival I will buy the club (as well as a solid midfielder, two right backs, and approximately a hundred more average/generic attackers). I also have a pretty snazzy new "style of football" I'm hoping to impose on the team.

Will we have a cat or a penguin as a club mascot?

How about that chap Gilmore?  His brother Ewen is also quite funny, but Aaron is a real joke.

Very good show, funny as hell.

Joseph has a real nice honest sincerity about him that really warmed the audience. He is funny and his musical sections where particularly good, very clever and well written. One of the few Kiwi Stand ups that actually made me laugh out loud.

Go and see him, this guy could be really going places, but he's only on to the 11th May.

Obviously

But we need to make him wealthy enough first and that means bums on seats.

He has promised me to buy the Nix - Honestly J82 you'd enjoy it.

Much better than I expected - much

Went and saw him tonight FT, I laughed harder than I have laughed in a long long long time. Thank-you for recommending him to me, I'm so very glad that I went and considering going back tomorrow night. Easily the funniest comedian I have seen in the festival so far.

Careful, you will give him a big head if he reads this.

From the Herald
Various satirists are having a field day with the story - which is why blogger Scott Yorke (@ImperatorFish) recently tweeted, 'Dear Aaron Gilmore, Thank you. Yours sincerely, Satirists'. For the best satirical items on the Gilmore scandal - see Sebastian Boyle's Civilian blogpost, I'm not a fu*ktard. I'm Batman, The Pigeon'sEmbattled MP facing 'severe punishment' after contradicting mother in public, Scott Yorke's More dirt from Aaron Gilmore's past emerges, Ben Uffindell's Aaron Gilmore threatens to use political position to end own career, and David Farrar'sGilmore to seek mandate in by-election.

On Monday 5th August one of the Yellow Fever family will be doing stand up comedy at Fringe Bar as part of Raw Meat Monday, and I shall be there to watch and support.  Suggest you all do the same.

Guess he won't be coming to Christchurch? Somehow I think my city in its current state would suit his black humour!!!

We had quite a bit of him on TV for a while when he popped up on QI, Live at the Apollo and Jeopardy on various channels.

Very funny man.

Now "Jeopardy" - that was one extreme program - from painful sadistic game challenges to wrecking all the prizes...once seen, never forgotten...

In the UK certain people of a certain age grew up with L and H and it never gets old.

This is just amazing and I've not watched it in 20 years and I'm a fool for waiting so long.

I'm up for starting a Sons of the Desert Tent over here. I think it would work well with the YF
