gutted we couldn't make it gold. thought we were the better team tbh just lacked a bit of finishing. bodes well for the future given the average age of the team is 22

We won Silver and Bronze in Hockey.  I reckon we could nick a silver in the closing ceremony...

Cool, I've managed to miss pretty much the whole event. I do have to snigger - Aussie, how many gold and medal total.....and New Zealand? 5 or 6 gold? Really we should be scoring a lot more than that.

Did a quick analysis of the top 20 medal table.

Of countries with population greater than 1 million, New Zealand gained most medals per capita at the Commonwealth games (8.2 per million) (were beaten on a per capita basis by Samoa, Bahamas & Cyprus).

Just pipped Australia (7.9) and well ahead of Scotland (5.0).

Not on top when based on Gold medals, granted, where Australia's performance is truly outstanding - even on a per capita basis.

That Netball was excellent to watch - watching Australians upset about losing is the greatest thing I've ever seen. God it's good.

The Commonwealth Games simply represent to my mind, COLONIAL OPPRESSION! So my idea is that ALL future games are held in Britian. And further not only does Britain host them it will pay for all team costs for them to attend the games. This would go part way to making up for all the injustice and oppression of the Empire years....

Here's a question for whoever.
Why do they not have rowing at the C Games? Isn't that a quintessential past-time of the motherland? Plus it would give us a few more golds on current form.

I'm not sure, but I do believe they shouldn't have a sport in the comm games unless it's going to get the best possible athletes, e.g tennis was a complete joke. Not sure whether the rowers would try as hard. Plus the fact World Champs was 2 weeks after the Comm Games
