I am thinking of making a forum rule that discussion of ball and stick games (golf, cricket, baseball etc) is an automatic banstick offence.

Cricket: yawn.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Haha... fair enough if you don't like it, but I truly believe that cricket is the best sport invented

Ummm.....Maybe there are problems on the inside or they dont rate him i mean come on after all he only scored 214 on test debut, averages 46.40 in NZ domestic cricket (on some of the most bowler friendly tracks in the world), averages 35.5 in tests again playing more than half his matches on our trashy pitches and 30 in ODI's which is more than respectable for an opener.

And he took "that" catch.

Yes I see why they dont want to play him!

GO THE NORTHERN KNIGHTS!! By the way, how crap were the Black Caps in the first test. Bowled well in the first innings but it turned bad real quickly after that. I agree with you chaps, Sinclair deserves another go.

There was a charity match up here at the new oval (best ground in NZ) in Whangarei on Saturday, NZ Masters vs Northland Masters. Ewan Chatfield, Murphy Sua, Lance Hamilton, Kerry Walmsley, Mark Bailey, Shane Thomson, Mark Richardson, Glen Sulzberger, Robbie Hart were all playing for NZ and Stephen Cunis, Bryan Young and Andrew Jones were playing for the Northland team. NZ won by about 10 runs. Good game to watch, not the best standard of cricket but it was good to see the old timers out on the park again

I'd dispute that, The likes of Pukakura (sp) or the grounds at lincoln are great to watch cricket at.

Sinclair made 243 in CD's first innings passing M Crowe's top score from CD. Probably a bit late to fly him off to SA now but surely he has to be there when the BC's take on Bangladesh in December.

I would...but every Firebirds Twenty20 match clashes with something... Firebirds vs Stags starts two hours before TW vs Waikato, and the other two home fixtures clash with uni. So I'll just keep tabs, maybe go along for the first hour or so of the match against the Stags before heading to the Team Welly match.

I'm not really a fan of cricket despite growing up playing it in Aussie, but I'm hoping to go to the ODI against England - many of my mates are cricket nuts so at least I'll be hanging out with amigos at the Ring of Fire

This summer I might even go and watch some local club matches. A good way to relax after work! Replace the Black Cap contracts and offer them performance based ones. Currently they grab the money and cant be arsed!
Firebirds for me on the regional front.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

C'mon the aces I heard that Andre Adams bowled alright today... heard that he bowled 9 consecutive maidens and finished with figures along the lines of 12 overs, 9 maidens, 2 wickets, 10 runs

Now why can't adams be back in the black caps?? it doesnt matter if he is older than most of the team, as long as he is performing better than the rest he should be in south africa

Because 90% of the time he's played international cricket he's looked like utter bollocks. And the remaining 10% didn't look that much better either.

Well that may be so but you cant tell me that there are 11 players playing better then him at the moment in south africa... if it's not working, then you must fix something

Not disagreeing with you there mate. But it's our batting that's really sh*te at the moment, and there just isn't enough talent around to fix that easily.el grapadura2007-11-21 21:22:28

Just got back from the domestic semi here in Christchurch. A tad disappointed at both the crowd numbers (Absolutely shocking) and also that Canterbury lost, however Otago played better and were derserved winners.

Canterbury didn't really have anything to right home with in their innings, Only Robertson (53) and Fulton (63) got past 50.

Nathan McCullum bowled absolutely brilliantly, only going for 26 runs in his 10 overs and claiming 2 wickets along the way.

Brendon McCullum was sensational and showed that he was more than a one-dimensional, smash the ball out of the park player. His innings was chanceless and at no stage did Otago look in any real danger.

Gidman and Broom also had healthy knocks of 81 and 41* respectively.

And it's me trying to get McCullums signature
