Also, Murphy can blame his car. Campbell can't blame anyone but himself.

Well considering Murph is driving a car built by the all conquering Triple 8 team who build Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes cars, he can't really blame the car either.

Hamilton wins , after Vettel and Webber hit, Vettel out but Webber recovered to 3rd.

Odd to see team mates going at it when 1 and 2, then the McLaren two do the same with Button passing Hamilton, but Hamilton passing back.

Re-watched the Hamilton-Button duel, that was some nice driving. Was bit of a nervous time watching it live though.

Also, Dixon down to 5th, illegal pass on Andretti

Very surprised with the pace of the Ferraris, was expecting a lot more from them this year. Still enough time to catch the Red Bulls and Mclarens.

Sebastian Vettel rubbed it in for the Germans, beating both English drivers.

Krauts > Poms

Fuck this stupid game

Except Hamilton and Button are 1 and 2 on the drivers standings. And this was prior to the World Cup match-up.

Anyway, I reckon Mark Webber is mostly to blame. He just went too hard at Heiki, who had every right to defend track position. But there are plenty of other little things that led to this; Lotus being crap, FIA allowing these slow cars, Valencia track having little passing areas.

Good win for Vettel though, there were a heap of issues over safety car passing and speed that led to addition of adding on time and a drive through penalty.

This is devastating for Hartley and NZ if reports are true.

Will be very difficult if not impossible for Hartley to drive f1 now. What a shame for NZ sport as a kiwi f1 driver would have been huge for this country. He was oh so close too! It seems the decision was made by Red Bull bosses in Austria rather than Horner and the f1 team at MK.

Ferrari

How I saw it:

Ferraris Massa and Alonso are 1 and 2. Alonso gains on Massa, but Massa defends well, then posts some very quick laps and pulls away a little.

Alonso to pit on team radio "This is ridiculous"

Team Radio to Massa "Alonso is faster than you. Can you confirm you understand?"

Massa slows, Alonso passes.

Smedley (Massa's engineer) to Massa "Good lad. Just stick with it now, sorry."

Alonso goes on and wins.

van der drift was very lucky indeed to survive that crash.
as was Elliottt sadler in the nascar race, he had a horror crash, hitting the wall head on at about 150mph, tore the engine out and destroyed the car

Sunday afternoon full of V8 Supercars at Phillip Island. Start of the enduro's. Can't wait. Real lottery this year with none of the main drivers being allowed to pair up so no Lowndes/Whincup combo for example. Could be a lottery.

Lowndes/Skaife looking strong favourites.

"If someone had offered me the chance [at the start of the season] to be in the lead after Monza, I would have bitten their arm off for it," - Mark Webber.

Going to be an exciting end to the season, who is everyone tipping?

My pick is Webber, so long as Red Bull finally get off the fence and realise he's their best bet for the title. Otherwise Hamilton will piss in

That would have to have been one of the least incident packed races in recent history. Though saying that, Coulthards crash probably made up for everyone else. Lowndes/Skaife do it again after Phillip Island 500 win. 6th win for Skaife to go level with Larry Perkins. 3 behind The King.
