Great first week! Watched a bunch of games.

I can see Kansas City Chiefs going all the way. Wow they are exciting. Were last year too, but probably even better now. Mahomes looks like he'll be a great quarterback, and super suited to throwing to the fast running weapons they have. Still not the best defensive team, but the rules this year could be better for offense.

Packers vs Bears game was amazing. Bears looked so good... until couldn't hold the game out. Didn't realise they were a top 10 defense last year, and now with Khalil Mack. The first half was just amazing with Khalil Mack having about the best half a defensive player could ever have. And he only signed with them a week ago!

Panthers win was classic Cam Newton, running loads of plays for big yards like no other quarterback can. They should be in the mix again, but hard to read much into the win as Cowboys were so terrible. Other teams would've beaten Cowboys by way more.

Lions were just horrific. Hilarious game for the rookie quarterback Jets had. Throws a pick 6 his first play of NFL, then win with 48 points! Though not like he had to do anything much for the win, the way the Lions imploded.

Rams looked awesome second half, especially with Gurley running rampant. Watched them as I see some are picking them as possible Superbowl team.

49ers getting smashed with injuries didn't Goropollo keep his undefeated streak, Vikings were pretty good.

Didn't watch Texans to see how my man Colvin went - traded there from Jaguars, but I see they lost.

Bring on Week 2!

Bengals good today. AJ Green huge with 3 touchdowns in first half.

Hate the scheduling how there's one match then all the others 3 days later.

How good was Mahomes second week!!  6 TDs.

And how about Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing 4 more TDs and 400 yards. Not bad for a backup.

If the Bucs bench Fitzpatrick after Week 3 they're crazy. They're 10x the team with him at QB than Winston.

Also amazing is all the records he has

  • Most career pass yards
  • Most 5,000-yard passing season (5), rest of NFL has 4 all-time
  • Most consecutive 4,000-yard passing seasons (12)
  • Most seasons leading NFL in Pass yards (7)
  • Most career 400-yard passing games (16)
  • Most career 300-yard passing games (111)
  • Most 300-yard passing games in a season (13 in 2011)
  • Most consecutive 300-yard passing games (9, 2 separate streaks)
  • Highest Comp Pct in a season (72.0%) in 2017
  • Most Pass TD in a game (7 in 2015 vs Giants - tied record)
  • Most consecutive games with a Pass TD (54)
  • Most career completions

Yes, if you're willing to pay for it. If not, good luck.

God, 3 field goals & a converted touch down!!  Sounds like a typical 6 Nations game.

6 Nations last year averaged about 5 tries per match.

NFL is back. Anyone else playing fantasy? Confident with your team?

I see no Redzone this year on ESPN in New Zealand. Absolutely gutted by this. I'm thinking of getting NFL Gamepass primarily for the Redzone. anyone else use Gamepass? Is it good? Does it Chromecast?

I've used the Gamepass for the last 7-8 years, it's absolutely brilliant but obviously not cheap. And yes, it does Chromecast.

Cheers. So it just comes as an app? I understand there are different prices depending on what one wants?

Yes, it comes as app, but I think it can be accessed from the nfl.com website (or at least it used to be, but I haven't done that in a while) too. Apparently the app will be included in the app packages for the latest smart TVs (I think Samsungs and Panasonics, but don't quote me on that), but I'm not sure if that'll be available in NZ in time for this season.

And yep, there are different packages. From memory, the cheapest one was 'Follow my team' option which I was doing originally, but I switched to the full shabang about 3-4 years ago.

Permalink Permalink

Yea might go with the full option. I don't follow any specific team so just want to consume as much as possible.

If you have the cash, you won't regret it. It's by far the best sports streaming service that I've come across.
